Title: Has anyone got their exam remarked and had their score go up?

Has anyone got their exam remarked and had their score go up?

I was one mark away from the next cutoff and there is one question in particular which i know i got right (i got 5/6 ) so i know one person took off one mark ,but im certain if they remarked it they'd give me the mark. Should I go for it?

If you have already gained the required study score or ATAR to gain admission into your course, I wouldn't worry; but if you are just below the cutoff and it might push you over the line, I'd say why not.
However, which subject is this regarding?

global politics, and my atar is literally 0.10 away from the cutoff.

Worked for one of my students. Definitely go do it

The only thing worth considering is whether that is a globally marked question? Because if so, there is arguably more room for debate over whether you deserved 5 or 6 marks for said question.

But if you're confident you'll get 6 marks for the question I don't see the harm in trying (other than the financial cost).

This is my personal opinion so you know - take this as you will....

I think there comes a point in time where you have to let go. You've done an amazing job to get through Year 12. If your ATAR is that close to the clearly-in, then I feel like you have a pretty good chance to get into your course. I honestly don't think it's worth it for 1 mark.

However - the other comments here are perfectly valid as well. If you really feel that a remark could rectify anything, then there really is no harm in trying.

Good luck with whatever you decide :)

the same thing happened to me, I was 0.60 away from what I originally thought I wanted

I had the option to get my HHD exam remarked but there's always the slight chance the mark would go down and then my ATAR would be too low to get into anything I wanted

so I decided to do this uni course and let that 0.60 go. When the time came to transfer courses I didn't want to.

It's your call, but I suppose things happen for a reason. None of us could predict if you'll get an offer or not but since you're just below the cut off it's not impossible.

My point is that I think everything will work itself out. If you don't get into your course this time you will find a way as you can change courses once you start one.

Good luck!

In addition to what's being said above, there's always second round offers. Even if you don't get it the first time, you may still get the offer in your second round.

Hi aaron, you moved one of my posts to the technical score query, which is alright. But I am not sure how to post questions and am wondering if you have any idea
Thanks

What do you mean, exactly? Do you want to reply to a thread with a question (which you've just done), or make a new thread entirely? :)

EDIT: Does this thread thread help at all? :)
