I like this thread.Just played soccer in the rain, lost soccer in the rain, get home and have a bath. Why, you ask? To test Physics wave principles.
So just played hockey. Lost hockey. Got rained on, and I’m so soaked I need a shower. But I’m showering because I got wet...?

My chem class was cancelled but we hadn't been told beforehand so we sat on the carpet in front of the door of the classroom for the whole period. If the teacher doesn't arrive in 15 minutes we're legally allowed to leave...
I just ate a piece of chocolate, and also fun fact some cats snore really loudly. On that note - I read in the Ripley's book today that one woman in Europe somewhere snores at 111 decibels - She can drown out a semi!!! :o
My baby nephew just vomited then swirled it around while laughing.
The chickens now have a yard to play in, and everyone's happy. :)chikins(https://i.imgur.com/DVV9CHL.jpg)
My account has been banned from the school server with the Informatics SAT due next week and I have no way to access my files to finish it off.
Why was it banned?
It's still winter, yet I'm eating ice-cream already right nowI do that all the time!
I am now 18 years old...Happy Birthday, man! :D Hope ya have a good day!
It's still winter, yet I'm eating ice-cream already right nowIt is never the wrong time of year to eat ice-cream. Same with hot foods, you can eat them both at any time of year. It's just that most people have silly ideas about that kind of thing. :P
Boss tells me to fix my phone because they can never reach me.
My phone is perfectly fine. I know its them calling me. I just never accept the call.
Will answer future phone calls from work from now on.
Why do they want to call you so often?
We got back our methods SAC.
I wanted to know the average.
Instead I asked the teacher for the mean, median, mode, and standard deviation of the SAC.
My teacher was not impressed.

Today was literally the worst day of my year to date. :(
My butt hurts from sitting in a chair too long. :(Currently sitting in one of the new chairs in the new school library, and it is an awesome experience, so comfy, and it is spring-loaded so that it can rock... Amazing!
Just crashed the business Kahoot. I came 10th. Never done business before. Had no idea what any of it meant.Lol. I did that with the History; Revs one last year, when I thought about doing the subject. Twas impossible! :D
Lol. I did that with the History; Revs one last year, when I thought about doing the subject. Twas impossible! :DFunny thing is that at my school the Chem/Physics teacher is married to the Psych/History teacher, and there's a bit of subject banter between them, and the Psych/History teacher got so mad when we class-shared and did each others Kahoots, and I won both the History Kahoots despite not being in History. lol :P
Correct

During my free period today I was stalking a bunch of my teachers on LinkedIn.This is why I have a fake account 😂
I later realised that they could see everyone who visited their profile :-\

A puppy just came running into my math class. I am completely okay with this 😍don’t know about you, but for some reason I find that a very un-mundane happening 😂
don’t know about you, but for some reason I find that a very un-mundane happening 😂People are allowed to bring their dogs to school so there’s normally a dog around somewhere pretty much every day haha. Running into a class without it’s owner is not so mundane though. (There was a big fluff here yesterday - maybe an old English sheepdog or something like that. I didn’t get to pat her though :'()
Sorry for the spam haha.
I just managed to spill coffee on myself. I blame you @J41. You’ve cursed me.
I just had Bacon and Eggs cooked on a toasted sandwich machine while at VET ITWe did a year 12 pancake breakfast on one in our common room the other day.
There was a sale on a particular brand of noodle cups. I bought 8 of them. Now I'm going to be carrying them all the way to uni after lunch. Oops.I'm guessing u forgot your bags??? How annoying are these new plastic bag laws? ??? :o :( >:( ;D

You know your life is sad when you do your biology homework as a reward for doing your English homework. :PDamn I feel attacked. I feel this in my soul hahahaha
Does your school not have school uniform or am I just trippin'? :oNo school uniform haha - Although that only happened at the end of last year and it's optional now so people do still wear it sometimes (or just the jacket)
Btw that dog is adorable.
Took an uber pool today!
Driver was having trouble trying to find the other passenger.
Driver puts call on loudspeaker.
Passenger gives the wrong directions to his location.
Had to awkwardly listen to their argument during the ride.
I have never heard of this. What's the concept?
I have never heard of this. What's the concept?
Uber pool is almost the same as normal Uber but it's way way cheaper since you have the share the ride with other passengers. Drivers will pick up and drop off passengers heading in the same direction to locations that are somewhat close to one another. Though, it takes a bit longer to book an Uber pool since drivers are busy picking up/dropping off passengers, it is reasonably cheaper than having an Uber all for yourself. My uber pool only cost me $5.62, instead of the usual $14.
Plus, you get to meet very interesting people in Uber pools :)
The little ones are coming out today - I'm watching one of them struggle out of his/her shell right now. Fluffy babies.obligatory picture(https://img00.deviantart.net/94e7/i/2018/248/d/c/new_life_by_goneroguee-dcm4ofz.jpg)
i have a 2yo sister begging me to "watch wabbit"... why doesn't she understand i have better things to do than watch peter rabbit with her?Little kids look up to their older siblings! ^-^ My nearly 6yo sister and 7yo brother still don't quite understand the concept of "Louise needs to study" whilst I'm trying to study but they want me to play. Give her a little patience, she's only young after all! :D (plus little kids are a great source of stress relief <3 )
i have a 2yo sister begging me to "watch wabbit"... why doesn't she understand i have better things to do than watch peter rabbit with her?Play it on a laptop and give her headphones and then sit next to her and do whatever else you want. She probably just wants to be with you.
There may be delays of up to 50 minutes due to a motor vehicle blocking the tracks near Ruthven. It says there’ll be a train at my station in a few minutes so yay, I don’t know how else I would have got home haha
(plus little kids are a great source of stress relief <3 )As in, you bash them up to relieve stress? ;)
My little brother just gave me $50 in gold and silver coins and asked me to order an Otamatone online for him.I just googled what that was. Seems like a worthy purchase :P
After nearly half a decade at school, I finally earned the prestigious right to use the staff bathrooms.
I discovered three things:
1. The lights actually turn on as soon as I open the door, unlike student bathrooms where you have to either hop under the sensors like an idiot for 5 minutes or do your business in the dark.
2. The locks on the bathroom doors actually do what they were intended to do so I don't have to wedge my bag under the door just to get some privacy.
3. THREE. PLY. TOILET. PAPER... SCENTED!!!
A few times I have gotten to use the staff toilets during working bees, and I found out they have a couch in there!!
Why does one need a couch? That is exactly what I was thinking...
Why does one need a couch?
I don't understand either!! I don't think it's the nicest place to grab a cup of coffee and read a nice book, or have a catch up with a colleague or something! Maybe they just thought. 'oh, this looks a empty, how about adding a couch, that might jazz it up a bit', or maybe they wanted the staff toilet to be better than the student toilet 'what have you got? A shelf? Oh, well we have a couch' :P
You know, the toilet isn't a bad place to go to when you're just so sick of people and just wish for some peace and quiet. I bet that's what the couch is for. ;D ;DAlso for hiding from students who know where their offices are haha
When the PE double regresses into watching AFL after-siren goal compilations from Youtube. I love our teacher so much.
Mistake #1 Trying to carry 14 test tubes at the same time.Mistake #2 Stopping to pat a dogStopping to pat dogs is never a mistake.
Result: I dropped (and broke) a test tube.
Is this a continuation of your dog-in-classrooms adventures? ;D ;DThis was a dog-on-path adventure haha. The classes in E wing (where most of our animals are) opens onto the road at the back of the school. One of the classes in E wing is farm and so the farm teachers dogs were wandering around. One of their names is Eddie (I can’t remember the other) but damn they are cute dogs. (I had fish which was why I was in E wing carrying test tubes)
Dw, I would do the same.
just woke up... my left eye is so puffy/swollen up it is almost shut... and my right is not much less...! :'( :'( :'( :'( any ideas??

Also I discovered how cold it is outside and I'm very glad to be on a train rn :DCold? It's over 30 degrees today in Newcastle!
I hope the rain stops before I get off my train. Otherwise I have to walk in it :'( Knowing Melbourne it’ll have stopped and started again at least a few times before then
Is it meant to be shit the rest of the day? Hope it doesn't impact my return flight.Considering it was freezing + raining 30mins ago down my way, I guess it'll be shit for the rest of the day :(
Is it meant to be shit the rest of the day? Hope it doesn't impact my return flight.Yeah it’s supposed to be rainy and windy all day - the rain’s not that heavy though. Having said that there’s now patches of blue sky above me 🤷♀️

lies, I was just at Sandown Raceway for the Supercars and it looked okay. Then it hailed. Don’t trust the blue. 😐I have just realised this haha. My brothers decided today was the perfect to to have a race around the park, silly me agreed to be their timekeeper. It was dry, now I can’t feel my toes (turns out it’s not sandal weather today )

My lasagne is cold and there’s gonna be a line at the microwave. :(Scratch it without shame, poet.
Also my belly button is itchy and my school skirt makes it a really awkward place to get to.
:( :(
how do people even have time for such things? :-\
I fell asleep in English today. Didn't finish the creative we were supposed to do.
Some random people (probably tourists) came up to me in the library and asked if I’m in uni and I said I’m in high school and they were like ‘wow you look so mature’. Now I’ve spent like the last 10 years trying to be older than I am but now I’m kinda offended lol;D ;D I can totally relate! I'm 16... a few months ago I took my 2yo sister to the park n two people made comments like, "aw... you have a gorgeous daughter" and "honey, your mum's calling you" a week or 2 later I was in the shops with her and an old lady made a comment inferring she was my daughter! like... WTF? I didn't really know what to think... should I be offended or complimented? I'm not really that mature-looking... am I?

What does yr 12 do to you?My addiction is chocolate... Oh wait. That started back in Yr 7... :-\
I have developed an addiction to cucumbers
You fell asleep...during a sac?
Loool, what's a sac? Is that a Victorian thing or something? Dw it was a normal class XD
sac stands for school assessed coursework and is basically anything other than the end of year exam which contributes to your ATAR. So, mainly written tests but sometimes presentations and w/e
^Cheerscongratulations... and don't worry about how you went! often it's nowhere near as bad as you think - and even if it is, one sac doesn't mean that much!
I had my last methods SAC today... :D
And I absolutely f****ed it up...
congratulations... and don't worry about how you went! often it's nowhere near as bad as you think - and even if it is, one sac doesn't mean that much!Thanks...

There's 3 theology college students that are on my tram. Overhearing their conversation, they're a tad weird. At least they're keeping my mind off a med appointment I have soon 😊Following on from this, that makes the second specialist and third doctor to tell me the exact same things I ALREADY KNEW in six months.
I just became an Australian citizen!!!!That definitely isn’t mundane haha
Ye boi guess who can get HECS now! ;D
Ate a dried shitake mushroom... ‘Twas an exhilarating experience.Sign me up to that cult, it does sounds fun 😂
Also opened up an old folder to stick my mountain of practice exams in and, in my (older) sister’s handwriting from about year 5, I see the phrase “OBEY THE ASTRONAUTS”.
Not sure what kind of cult that would be, but it sounds fun.
Do you have a good book? :Pnope, I do have my laptop with some games on it. :P
Forgot about my tea for a good hour. It's cold now, but I can't be bothered getting up to heat it.
*shrugs and sips cold tea*
Forgot about my tea for a good hour. It's cold now, but I can't be bothered getting up to heat it.I once made a tea before uni and left it on the sheet music stand on the keyboard at home for 12 hours. Didn't taste too bad! Hopefully yours didn't taste too bad either! ^-^

There I was, just innocently waiting at the traffic intersection, when a peewee bird swoops at me for invading its territory :o
Where I grew up, we called magpie larks "mudlarks". I guess this might be why?
I'm tracking magpie larks this semester for uni to try to see how their behaviour is being influenced by climate change (only really one week of tracking left) & if you see a nest please let me know [and if you could tell me where that would be brilliant! ].
No one in my group has seen any nests yet, but they'll probably be about 20m above the ground and made using mud
Where I grew up, we called magpie larks "mudlarks". I guess this might be why?
Wait... Is that actually a mudlark's real name?
Wait... Is that actually a mudlark's real name?Ergh I typed up a whole thing on magpie larks but then my computer did something >:(
Today i wanted to see what bannana bread tasted like when it was toastedWhat?! Toasted is the best way to eat banana bread. With a little butter as well 👌 How can you eat it when it’s cold?? (Although actually fresh out of the oven is the best way to eat it)
Result: Do not ever toast bananna bread. I'd rather eat a whole packet of stale biscuits and wash them down with warm milk
Conclusion: Now i see why people say some things are better left undiscovered. Bananna bread was never meant to be toasted...
What?! Toasted is the best way to eat banana bread. With a little butter as well 👌 How can you eat it when it’s cold?? (Although actually fresh out of the oven is the best way to eat it)I cannot think of many worse foods i have eaten recently than toasted bannana bread.
I cannot think of many worse foods i have eaten recently than toasted bannana bread.Man, what kind of banana bread are you eating? And where did you toast it? Because if there was any cheese residue (sandwich toaster) I can tell you right now that's always a bad idea.
Out of the oven is fine; toasted was... ::) :o :-[

what am i doing with my lifethe question of the ages.
That moment when you're just trying to cross the road while walking your dog but cats in your neighbourhood thinks they own the goddamn place.Photographic evidence:(https://i.imgur.com/bBDvJIY.jpg)

That moment in life where you're in the middle of a tricky practice exam and you start hearing deafening snorting noises accompanied by incessant joyful giggling, decide to ignore it for about half an hour and then, as the noise continues to unceasing and unbearable levels, you find your younger siblings chasing each other with a large and dirty rubber pig they have creatively christened "Pig", whom they have been using as a bowling ball, a footy and, most fascinatingly, a salami chef. He's a very wise pig, they say.Sounds like my house tbh. However sometimes I find that I need a break and it provides the comic relief needed.
Never a dull moment, here.
It takes ages to get to the library from here, hopefully Pig makes up for all the noise with a good dinner
Just enrolled to vote.Officially Old... :P

Identity crisis confirmed.
But yeah... One Nation... ew... let's just pretend that never happened. ;DLol.
I will need to properly look through that site when I have time. Lol.I'm at the lectures too, any chance we could have a meetup this arvo?
When doing the quiz I got three parties all within 3% of each other. I’m gonna have to do a crap tonne of research I guess.
But in good news I didn’t forget the lectures today and are currently on a train in.
I'm at the lectures too, any chance we could have a meetup this arvo?
I'd be keen.I, too, struggle with social experiences :P I'm currently in the Spesh lecture, could you suggest someplace to meet straight after?
Just be warned I am an introvert that is super socially awkward haha.
What lecture are you in?
Is anyone else currently here?
EDIT: I am in EngLang

That’ll make two of us. 😛Sure, cya there. fyi, I'm wearing a blue striped shirt and jeans...
I have no clue where to meet lol. I guess just inside the entrance to the building....
Yesterday, I went to Officeworks to buy my favourite pens so I could use them in the exams and they're so expensive. Gah. Why do I have to like writing with expensive pens XD
On another note. I finish high school completely in 30 days time. I'm actually excited for the end of all this!
I just discovered that I can split-screen on my phone.Spoiler(https://i.imgur.com/qNe1Q3U.png)
My compchem lecturer has cracked too many bad jokes in the first 10mins of this lecture. Help. :')Will send a rescue squad as asap as possible.
Just drove to Bendigo in my dads car.
Dad taught me how to use cruise control.
It’s scary when the car is propelling itself 110 km/h, I feel like I nearly kept going out of control lol.
How long was the drive?
Finally finished my 120 hours this weekend!!! Now I've just got to wait until December to turn 18, and then until February to be in Australia, and I can get my P's >:( I am so sick of waiting.

I’ve had Let it Go from Frozen stuck in my head for more than a week and I’m starting to despair of ever hearing another song again, for as long as I live, and I’ve never even seen Frozen. I beseech you all, please find me another annoying song to get stuck in my head, just so I can let go Let it Go.Everything is awesome- from the lego movie? :')

Today was not a shorts day. I’m cold.Nor was it a skirt day. :(
My mum just found six bees in our bathroom.
@owidjajaI just found out last week that a lot of houses are being infested with bees -_-
We have another one! It really must be bee weather.

Oh no.
;D isn't there a pun thread for you guys?I wish there was a pun thread so they would stop subjecting us to these unbeelievable puns :'(
4 of my closest friends just left school! :'( :'( embarassing fact... i'm actually feeling really peeved/lonely/sad rn!Definitely shouldn’t be embarrassing - totally normal to miss them. Probably worth reaching out to them to chat or catch up sometime if you want to stay in touch with them.

Lining up at PAX. I am surrounded by nerds. I found my people!!!!
^I might have even asked this previously, but what is PAX?Well, it's really just PAX. It used to be called the Penny Arcade Expo - basically, a huge gaming festival. It's like Comic-Con for card and arcade nerds :))

If you're looking for something to do, you could create resources whether that's note/advice etc for next year's students. You could also post subject reviews to help guide other students & look at the VCE maths boards to see if you can help there :)
Now is the time to pass your knowadge onto the 2019 cohort!!
It's now about passing on what you know. My friends are in the process of setting up tutoring for next years year 12s in some of their subjects in order to pass on what they've learnt and their experiences.
Have been doing more preparation for my formal than my HSC exam lately...Whoops! ;DThat's definitely fair enough! You only have food tech left right? Not like you can study for that 24/7
I just had a maths question asking me to sketch the graph y=(x-2)2 + 5. The grid given was 5x5! ??? ;DLol. That took me waaaaayyy too long... :'( :-[
Lol. That took me waaaaayyy too long... :'( :-[;D ;D ;D ;D I thought you'd get that straight away!! :o ??? ::) :P
The thing is, green beans aren't actually green. It's the reflection of light and the pigment in the chlorophyll. So does that mean oranges aren't really orange? Or eyes aren't actually blue? Or the world is actually completely monotone and we just pretend that colours are real because we're dreaming and one day we'll all wake up and realise we're not even in year 12 yet and life is a lie.
Phone calls really shouldn't be this stressful ... but I've just got a job interview for tomorrow!! :D
What type of work? :)It's a cafe at one of the shopping centres near me, so making coffees/food and serving people mainly. :)

I spent today doing pretty much nothing... except going to school giving back text books and signing out. I then proceeded to forget to buy the Grad Ball tickets and then had to go back. >:(
It kept me busy but now I'm so bored it's not funny. Like I don't have anything I need to do but I feel like there's something I need to do? I dunno. It just feels weird not doing anything

As a descriptivist, I claim (very oversimplified) that if enough people call a thing "green" then it is "green". And I'm sure the largely descriptivist Oxford English Dictionary would agree with me...Fun fact: I know the adjective aoi used to be used in Japanese to refer to anything blue and green, however, nowadays, they have the word midori to refer to green, although this range is still different to what we refer to green in English. (Here's a Wikipedia link to sort of explain what I mean.) There are also different boundaries for various colours in other languages too.
That said, I have always been curious whether other people pointing at the same green thing as me and calling it "green" actually perceive it in the same way as I do. And I don't know there's any way to know <i>that</i> for sure.
So I found the Hamilton soundtrack (I knew it was a thing but never thought of listening to it) at about midnight when I was gonna go to sleep.
And now it’s 2:30am....
Bad idea....
Wait til you find a bootleg of Hamilton online with the original broadway cast ;)
It’s an experience.
So... how long does it take to complete the whole checkpoints book before the exam?Apparently too long.
Find out in the next episode!!!
Finished my last exam and don't know what to do next.Catch up on sleep :p

I just watched ‘The Crimes of Grindewald’ and I honestly don’t know how I feel about itlike in a good way or a bad way ;[ ?
like in a good way or a bad way ;[ ?
Bad way- plot was confusing, characters were meh compared to the first film, editing was off, cinematography made me dizzy, Johnny Depp as Grindewald.sad to hear... I was really looking forward to see it ;(
They're really milking the Fantastic Beasts series to earn more revenue- which sucks because this entire series could be easily summed up in three films.
I just watched ‘The Crimes of Grindewald’ and I honestly don’t know how I feel about it 😂I just finished watching it and was so disappointed!! :(
It only took me eleven months to figure out that various forum tabs are collapsible ;DWhat, how did I not know this??! You have also saved me a lot of scrolling, thanks hahaSpoiler(https://i.imgur.com/hdJI7KB.png)
Gonna save me from doing a lot of scrollin' in the future.
I posted a meme I made on a Facebook group last night and I woke up to it being posted on another Facebook group.
I don’t know whether to be happy it’s good enough to be stolen or sad that I wasn’t credited.
Today I was doing an English practice exam in class. The substitute teacher we had wrote, "The time is..." on the board and got up every couple of minutes or so to change it. :-\Did you introduce them to a clock?
Did you introduce them to a clock?Sadly, there was no clock to introduce them to, which is why they kept the time in such a weird way. I mean, shouldn't there be a clock in every classroom? During one part of the exam this makeshift "clock" from 12:47 to 12:50 in the spam of 30 seconds. :(
The cancer all-clear :)That is great news! :)

Hello!
I have very bad news for you.
11/07/2018 - on this day I hacked your operating system and got full access to your account
It is useless to change the password, my malware intercepts it every time.
How it was:
In the software of the router to which you were connected that day, there was a vulnerability.
I first hacked this router and placed my malicious code on it.
When you entered in the Internet, my trojan was installed on the operating system of your device.
After that, I made a full dump of your disk (I have all your address book, history of viewing sites, all files, phone numbers and addresses of all your contacts).
A month ago, I wanted to lock your device and ask for a small amount of money to unlock.
But I looked at the sites that you regularly visit, and came to the big delight of your favorite resources.
I'm talking about sites for adults.
I want to say - you are a big, big pervert. You have unbridled fantasy!!!
After that, an idea came to my mind.
I made a screenshot of the intimate website where you have fun (you know what it is about, right?).
After that, I made a screenshot of your joys (using the camera of your device) and joined all together.
It turned out beautifully, do not doubt.
I am strongly belive that you would not like to show these pictures to your relatives, friends or colleagues.
I think $786 is a very small amount for my silence.
Besides, I spent a lot of time on you!
I accept money only in Bitcoins.
My BTC wallet: ---
You do not know how to replenish a Bitcoin wallet?
In any search engine write "how to send money to btc wallet".
It's easier than send money to a credit card!
For payment you have a little more than two days (exactly 50 hours).
Do not worry, the timer will start at the moment when you open this letter. Yes, yes .. it has already started!
After payment, my virus and dirty photos with you self-destruct automatically.
Narrative, if I do not receive the specified amount from you, then your device will be blocked, and all your contacts will receive a photos with your "joys".
I want you to be prudent.
- Do not try to find and destroy my virus! (All your data is already uploaded to a remote server)
- Do not try to contact me (this is not feasible, I sent you an email from your account)
- Various security services will not help you; formatting a disk or destroying a device will not help either, since your data is already on a remote server.
P.S. I guarantee you that I will not disturb you again after payment, as you are not my single victim.
This is a hacker code of honor.
From now on, I advise you to use good antiviruses and update them regularly (several times a day)!
Don't be mad at me, everyone has their own work.
Farewell.
Well this is the most threatening spam email I've gotten so far It's even funnier that it got sent to my school account.FTR it's been more than 50 hours and I have yet to be locked out.Spoiler

A plane flew over my head so perfectly that it actually casted a shadow over me for like half a second. That's new. This happened again yesterday. No idea how.

My puppy still hasn’t learnt her lesson 😂 Every time she gets too close to the cat he tries to scratch her, mostly he misses but whenever he actually gets her she comes whimpering to me acting like she’s been terribly wronged...and then goes and tries to play with my cat again.Your cat sounds so vicious though! :O
Your cat sounds so vicious though! :ONah he’s not really vicious, he hardly ever actually gets her, he mostly just hisses and waves his paws in her face. She barks at him and jumps around excitedly so I think she scares him more hahaha
Hopefully the puppy learns eventually! ^-^
I just realised that the super stretched images on here just need a click and they become perfectly normal!Nope, not just your phone, it's a forum thing! ^-^
Or it might just be my phone that's doing it... ???

So I just rediscovered my old twitter account. Apparently I actually used to post things on there when I was 13/14. It's so cringey :-[ I'd forgotten I even had twitter lolCan you still login? Resurrect!!!
Nah that's definitely the case across the board.Sorry Nick! :D
EDIT: Yep, insanipi just pipped me... by ten hours.
Can you still login? Resurrect!!!I used to use the same password for everything so yep. I'm just going through and laughing at all the stuff I posted (and deleting most of it haha). I barely use social media anyway though (even though it seems I used to)

What do you reckon about Facebook/other social media?I don't really notice the advertising much, I tend to just scroll past it really fast.
Still think it's worth having though - definitely makes it easier to keep in contact with people you don't see very often.Yeah it's a tough weigh up - staying in contact vs advertising... I guess I'll probably get it just because all the people from school are spreading across Australia (interstate degrees!)
The advertising is annoying but you sorta just get used to it.

To clarify, do you mean like the ATAR Notes - VCE and ATAR Notes - HSC pages?

The inside of a car wheel is actually so annoying to clean. You have to lie down on your back, push yourself under the car and clean the rim. The thing is, only half the rim is accessible while the car is parked. So then you have to pull yourself out, get in the car, turn the engine on and try to judge a half turn of the wheels. Then you do it all again until you get it right. *sigh* my back is so dirty :-(
Would it be easier to take the wheel off and clean it?alas, this not be mine own car, but that of my father, who does not own jack nor driver. We could but it’s be very difficult to not break the car haha (I take off the rims to clean them but this is a 3-tonne van. We’d have to put it in a professional garage to clean it like that)
I just found out today that I'm now a university graduateNot a mundane life update at all. Congratulations!
I've seen four echidnas in the wild in the last two weeks (Ferntree Gully, Healesville, and two at Port Nepean today).
Unlike most Australian animals, they really don't care who's about watching them (more than one came within a metre of me...)

When I see them near roads etc they seem to be less timid but when I've seen them in natural locations they have scared much more easily.
I wonder how long it takes for them to become desensitised (if that's what's occuring) & the implications this has on their future survival
I saw one the other day when out mountain biking. It darted across the trail ahead of me so quickly, I had not the time to react (sonic the echidna ?). It must have been sitting beside the trail and been rather startled by a noisy bike.
I had never seen an echidna in the wild before, although I doubt I really 'saw' it. I seem to not have the same luck that you have in finding them, but perhaps it is just because I don't look hard enough (they do blend in a fair bit I would imagine)
This might sound really funny but today I realised that I am never sure how many " o's " to attach with words like " to "."To" is typically followed by some kind of a destination. It's an example of a preposition.
Like when do we write "to" and not "too"
so what I do is add a couple of o's with my to's so they turn into toooooo's( people think I am referring to something really important haha)
p.s
Joke: Interviewer: tell me about your weaknesses
Me: I don't know how many o's to attach to my toooo's . ;)

I am now officially old enough to drink, drive and get arrested. The latter tends to follow when you mix the two former, hence why they all come together on turning 18. :DHappy Birthday!! Hope you have fun drinking and driving as mutually exclusive activities.

Just put up the Christmas tree tonight. A little late this year, but at least it is up before Christmas Eve. ;DMine's still not up!

On a different note, I just lost 3 games of pool. I don't think that is going to be a viable career path for me ;(

Thanks all! :D I'm boring as hell and just got them from Bunnings haha -- their range is great. I started with continental parsley, mint, basil, oregano, chamomile, rosemary, and thyme from their amazing garden section. I've also got a bunch of flowers, tomatoes, and passionfruit, although the passionfruit was here when I started leasing the house.Did I mention I love you, Grandpa?
I'll wait for more flowering and then make some tea and post an update!
I tried finding some sideritis (the best flavour of tea) today but unfortunately I couldn't find any :(
Had a big chat with an illustrator today, and they're going to start training me in graphic design. :)That's exciting!
Aaaaand I've bought myself my first phone!!! ;D Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, for anyone who wants to know, and I'll have it when I get back to Aus, so I'm pretty happy right now!Wouldn't classify this as mundane!!!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAI am glad my suffering brings joy to you. I would say the same goes the other way round, but I am a better person than that ;)
NIGHT. MADE.
Just walked outside in the dark and right into a spider web. The best part: the sizeable spider was still making it and I practically gave it a little kiss before jumping back. whoever says objects with mass can't reach the speed of light is wrong, becuase I am fairly certain I was moving well faster than it.Hahahaha this is fantastic. Have you ever contemplated a career as a police sketch artist?
I am no spider expert so I can't give you a name, however I can give you this fairly accurate drawing of it (If I say so myself)

If anyone is a spider expert and can tell me what this is, please do. :)
Last night I finished a book I started 3 days ago. I haven't read that quickly since before year 12. So good to have some freedom now :)
What were you reading? :)
It's called 'An Ember in the ashes' by Sabaa Tahir. I couldn't put it down. I recommend it to all of you (If you're into fantasy). That sounds interesting! :)
I'm about to move house and just ordered 100/40 NBN after suffering for nearly 10 years of ADSL2+ (around 4-5Mbps download).
You don't know how good it feels.

Finally ended up booking my hazards test.. #RoadToPs
Awesome work!
I recommend doing the online practice tests. I honestly found it very dissimilar to actual driving.
Yea I've heard some pretty negative reviews about the test overall; apparently the quality is appalling.

I just did my hazards last week...
It should be illegal to fail anyone, based on poor video quality... 😕

yikes, it's STILL bad? It was terrible quality when I did it..... nearly 6 years ago.Lets just say I didn't need a magnifying glass to distinguish the pixels in the screen.

Tomorrow I'll be catching a train, travelling on it for 26 hours, spending about 12 hours in a fairly hot, dusty south Indian city, and then catching a plane to Singapore. Then there will be a 13 hour wait before finally flying home. Overall? Leave at 5:30am on Wednesday, arrive home at around 8:30am on Saturday. Ugh! Plus, there will probably be a bit of walking in that time, which is a bit of a struggle at the moment due to the injured toe. >:(

I like this thread. It reminds me how ordinary 90% of life is. But that’s always the 90% we forget. #thoughtswithpoet
Well today I am at school.
#mundanelife
I went to the beach today. It wasn't the nicest conditions but there is something so relaxing about being in or even just near the ocean.
I think (get ready for poet feels!): it may be the soft smell of salt in the air along with the fresh oxygen in the day and the soft and low pitched sounds of the waves coming in and out that just relax your mind out of its current or past situation. It is quite a beautiful mundane thought.
I burnt my tongue on my dinner for the third day in a row.
Are you tongue-food fighting? That would almost be less embarrassing at this point. I just have yet to learn that freshly cooked food is indeed hot and that I should wait until it cools slightly before eating.

I tried almond milk for the first time ever last week! It’s quite weird at first but then you kinda get used to its texture and taste.
Yeah I'm fine with it in coffee but not a fan solo.
On its own or in coffee or something? In cereal aha. Wasn't too much of a fan 😅

I have a cold and the teacher wouldn't let me leave to go to get some tissues. Spent 2 hours trying not to do that gross annoying sniffle.I feel your pain :-\

Oh no! :( Feel better soon ^-^
I feel the pain though, I had a really bad cold last year and I had to do 2 tests worth a bunch of marks and I had to try so hard not to be that annoying person who coughs/sniffs during them :(
Relatable. :'(

Got an email from NESA just then.

Also being dragged out to some town called Waurn Ponds. This'll be a long trip. Send help. :')Some town? Waurn Ponds is the pinnacle of Geelong Or so I've been told, I would have no idea
Considering piercing my ears by myself at home even though I know I'll probably get an infection. It's about the ~life experiences~ you know??I know plenty of people that have done it themselves and not had any significant issues, but nonetheless I would recommend not doing it by yourself. Maybe I'm just mundane though hehe
Considering piercing my ears by myself at home even though I know I'll probably get an infection. It's about the ~life experiences~ you know??This is a bit off track but it depends where you want to pierce. If it's just through your lobe it may be fine, but if you're looking to pierce cartilage it's a bad idea. I would recommend forking out to get them done sanitarily and properly though, mine were $15 per ear and that included the studs. No infections and you also get sprays to ward off infection. You also get instructions. DIY body mutilation is often a bad idea if done on a whim or without appropriate tools, treatment and supervision.

I thought the CBD was the pinnacle of Geelong with two Dymocks being in close proximity of each other though! :')I would guess that there must be multiple pinnacles including the two Dymocks in close proximity to each other. However, this is only a guess as I do not have much knowledge of this far away place.

Considering piercing my ears by myself at home even though I know I'll probably get an infection. It's about the ~life experiences~ you know??IMO definitely not worth the risk...get someone with training and medical grade, sterilised equipment to do it. It's pretty cheap to get done (think my lobes were about 30 bucks including earrings) and if you really don't want to spend much money, wait till Off Ya Tree do a $5 special on piercings (which is fairly frequently)
Can we all just take a moment to give a round of applause to Melbourne Uni's commerce department.Spoiler(https://i.imgur.com/Q21mE9Q.jpg)

The other day I saw a number plate on a car whilst driving to uni. It had Tasmania on it.
How the heck did THAT make its way into Australia??!
The mainland*Tasmania isn't real haha, you guys are funny
Spirit of tassie I'm guessing

I don't usually eat cereal. But when I do, I always eat too much. Oh boy.
I should know better than to go shopping when easter chocolate is on clearance. I somehow acquired enough chocolate to last me the entire year. Thanks for reminding me to do my yearly chocolate shopping tonight when I back home from ny grandma's ❤
^the orange chocolate is $3 at Coles atm 😍That is amazing to know, ty again ❤
The person who collected my exam seemed to take offence at my scribbled asterisks on questions I wanted to go back to. Oops.
I used to do this all the time. What was the feedback?I left the exam a bit early so he didn’t say anything. He flicked through the exam when I gave it to him and he pointed at it and looked at me questioningly and I said I was just marking them to come back to later and he kind of just shook his head at me. Was very confused but I just left 😂
Meanwhile Katie is watching me kill mosquitoes. You should've brought the electric mosquito swatter!
I'm sick... Again.
Second time this week alone.
I've been sick about 5 or 6 separate times this month.
Really not good for business and budget plans.

What type of tea?A black tea of sorts! :)
I just completed my third Tafe assessment. ;D
I have a cold....again UGH
I'm also emotionally exhausted
But plus side, the weather is rainy and I'm inside all warm and toasty wearing 5 layers haha
Nice! What did you have to do for this one?
Poor doggo is looking out the window as it rains, thinking "this is going to delay walkies."Poor doggo needs a photo shoot to make up for it ;)
Going strong on this three day migraine marathon! (And undefeated in my six (seven?) month fever marathon!)
I can smell colors. Hope those of you that are sick too start feeling better ASAP!
Fantastic. Great move. Well done Angus.
Still find it weird that I'm one of the most experienced casual staff at my workplace despite being the youngest one. I've been given the opportunity to train new staff now. That happened to me at Woolies. By the time I'd been there for a year and a half I was regularly the most experienced working (people who actually knew what they were doing rarely worked at the same time) despite being the youngest by far. It's very strange, especially when customers looked to the new staff like they'd give them a different answer when I told them something lol.
Time flies so quick.
Today my grandma was walking her dog, Geoffrey. She stopped to cross the road when another dog runs across the road and tries to attack Geoffrey, causing him to pop his head out of his collar and run away. Naturally, everyone was frantic. Where could he have gone? What if he gets hurt?
Luckily, a person who happened to drive by with their dog noticed the scene and took the leash off their dog and attached it to the collar of the "attacking" doggo. Then they drove along and followed Geoffrey.
Guess where he went? On our front porch, waiting to be let in. What a good boi 😍
Me this morning: "I'm just a big toasty cinnamon bun."This is a big mood today.

I got my L's!!!!! Only around 1 and a half years late.....
It's so weird learning new piano pieces again. I feel like a toddler. But the satisfaction when you finish pieces and make them sound polished is worth it though!
The sims 4 is currently free so I finally downloaded it so I can play lolBe careful! You may just start speaking simlish! :P (Whenever I open Sims 4, I get so hooked on it 😅).
It's more addicting than I expected
You know when people just leave their old furniture out on the street and expect council to pick them up? I got very lucky and got myself a free canvas. It's huge and they usually cost $80+. Thank you kind stranger for dumping your canvas on the street.
Dog stole my beanie when I was on the phone and spinning the beanie around my hand. Guess I'm just beanieless for ever now.
Managed to make it to work without falling asleep. All about the little wins.
So, uh, ANU got hacked. I'm both amused and concerned.
....Apparently this started in late 2018, they only realised a couple of weeks ago, and they're only telling us today ::)
Elaborate? What do you mean "hacked"?As in, data breach hacked.
We believe there was unauthorised access to significant amounts of personal staff, student and visitor data extending back 19 years.
Depending on the information you have provided to the University, this may include names, addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, personal email addresses and emergency contact details, tax file numbers, payroll information, bank account details, and passport details. Student academic records were also accessed.
That's uh... that's pretty poor.At least there are memes
Please, somebody tell me that uni stdents don't have exams then. ???Depends on which uni you go to and what year it is. Usually the exam period begins in early November, but, like Easter, it does move a little each year, so Halloween sometimes falls on the first or second week of exams. (This tends to be places that have ten week trimesters like Deakin, rather than places with 12 week semesters like Monash or Melbourne; they usually have SWOTVAC/ StuVac that week.)
ALSO Does it not annoy anybody else that exams are always around Halloween? I adore Halloween and I feel like it totally sucks that students don't really get to enjoy it. Please, somebody tell me that uni stdents don't have exams then. ???I had an exam on Halloween a couple of years ago, but like AW has said, depends on the year :)

My bus was running late today so I walked across the road to catch a different bus going to the same place. The original bus came and left before the one I was on left. This mildly annoyed me.
Goes to uni to work on an assignment.
Accidentally ends up starring in a uni promo video.
Well, you can't just leave it at that. :P

Last night, my dog saw a stock photo of a penguin, and started barking so much that he fell off the couch. What breed is your dog?
Bless that boy.
What breed is your dog?
A cavoodle! Is the one in your picture yours?
Damn! Yes, the one in my picture is a cavoodle as well ;D ;D ;D
Thought so! Absolutely gorgeous!
Had someone say they thought I was 14/15 today (and the younger sister)!! :(Happens to me all the time :(
Winter solstice in Belgrave. Was a lot of fun: Inventive lanterns, fire dancing, circus acts, telescopes tuned to Jupiter and Saturn. But cold (4 degrees and misty as I walked back home).

Nice one. Is this an annual event?
This is not mundane but I'll allow it ;)
Yes, it is. I overheard someone claiming it was the first one they had been to which wasn't raining :) [it did rain last year, but not much].
Why, thank you for your gracious permission.
Yesterday I came third in a cupcake cooking competition at work. Mundane enough? ;)
Are cupcakes ever mundane? Haha. What did you make?
Finished knitting a scarf this morning. Only took me about a year...
Nice work! What type of scarf?
It's long and yellow (and garter stitch). I'm going to Spotlight today to buy some black or grew pop poms to put on the end. Maybe I'll post a picture ;D
A fellow Hufflepuff?! ;D
Decided to pull an all-nighter in an attempt to fix my whack body clock. #insomnihax
Been clocking out at around 3am for a few days now but I'm aiming to schleep at 9:30 and get up at 5. When the house is quiet and there are no distractions it seems to do wonders for my productivity.

What are you usually doing in the early hours of the morning? Haha. Good idea trying to get it back. 👍Well, if you mean when I've been going to sleep recently, I've pretty much been browsing atarnotes and watching youtube (a wonderful combination). During the school term, though, I just wake up at 5 to do homework and cook bacon and eggs without having to rush out the door ::)

I have a story about the time I ate too much cheese when housesitting.
Do tell!I was house-sitting one of my friend's aunt's places near Altona beach early last year. The friend's aunt left us some cheese, and one of my friends brought out the cheese. Noone else touched it, and I was slightly tipsy at the time and ate it all. It's become a meme between me and my friends :')
The wind is howling so freaking loud outside my window I can't hear myself think.I've watched the weather go from sunny and partly cloudy to loud and v windy to rainy and hail-y to sunny. The wind was pretty wild here too haha. :)
Nonchalantly became king of the magpies. I have acquired the ability to bend them to my will and have them perform insanely radical featz.

I joined the wonderful world of the NBN today. Here's hoping it's more reliable than ADSL (my previous connection would frequently go slow or drop out randomly when it rained - and it's been raining a bit in the last month or two...)

Rock climbing is a lot more strenous and tiring than it looks.
I feel so sore after going rock climbing today. :-\
If you feel really tired and sore chances are you were expending a lot more effort than you needed to. Often beginners will overuse their arms and neglect the importance of their legs. Next time you go, try using your legs to push you up the wall and your arms/hands for balance :)Thanks, I'll definitely try to keep that in mind for when I go rock climbing next week.
Thanks, I'll definitely try to keep that in mind for when I go rock climbing next week.
We have the oppurtunity to jump off the wall. Does anyone have any experience with that and is it as scary as it looks?
No worries :)I'm not really sure to be quite honest but I'll try to describe it anyways. Context: Indoor Rock Climbing.
What do you mean by "jumping off the wall"? Like abseiling?
First time I went abseiling it was a bit intimidating and I tripped over backwards off the cliff face (this was outdoors) but I was fine :) If you're dealing with overhangs just make sure you lower yourself down enough so your head won't crash into the wall/face (you won't die or anything if it does but I tend to prefer not whacking my head into things ahaha). Remember that even if you screw up anything you have your belayer there as a safety net :)
The scariest part of most things is starting & that's certainly true for many people when it comes to stuff involving heights.
I'm not really sure to be quite honest but I'll try to describe it anyways. Context: Indoor Rock Climbing.
So like there's a little place to stand on top of the rock climbing thing and you can jump off that with like a rope or something.
Sorry if that made no sense.
Oh I think I get it - so like freefall? In that case I woudn't find it very scary since if you're wearing the harness you can control your speed and it's pretty hard to muck that up (not saying I couldn't - just that the chances are quite low) and even if you did you'd have a belayer or autobelay system to stop you if needed. That being said, it'll probably feel scary for most people standing on the platform.Yeah, I think it is a freefall.
If you're jumping where there's a wall or other obstacle near you, you should face it so you can push off it with your feet if needed (which I find fun), but I'm sure they'll go through everything relevant anyway :)
I'm going to Tassie for the weekend!
Any recommendations on souvenirs to bring home?
Ha! I was in Tassie over the weekend, too! Where did you go? How did you find it? :)
I was in Hobart! I went to the Tasmanian Art Gallery and Museum, did a bus tour, went on the ferry, had some good food! I enjoyed it a lot, and I definitely need to go again!
I’m spewing I didn’t get to go to MONA >:(
What were you up to ?
I set an alarm for my 8am meeting today knowing it would only take me about 15 minutes to get there. My sleep-wake cycle decided I needed to be awake at 5-something am. Here's the thing: I used to wake up at around that time to get to uni at 8am but how did my body clock know I had uni today?
Shooting people with water is fun. Finding the people who I'm supposed to be shooting is hard.
When you have the ability to shoot with water, is not every person you see someone who you are supposed to be shooting at?

Also my bio lecturer: "But I'll give you chocolate" (If we plagiarize - even just miss a reference - we get a 0 and have to go talk to him, but he has chocolate in his office).
Wait, a zero, even if you miss one reference? :oYep. We have to reference literally every sentence we write in our introduction, and almost every sentence in the discussion. Gonna be f u n.
Yep. We have to reference literally every sentence we write in our introduction, and almost every sentence in the discussion. Gonna be f u n.Endnote will become your best friend. Good luck :)
What specifically confirmed your thoughts?
The way that they talked about their work - the "wins" that they shared with us seemed to be losses to me...
e.g. development was going to be on a rare and important habitat (destroying it in the process) so the consultants relocated 1 endangered species - that was it. That story was sold to us as a win and I wouldn't find motivation or happiness in that. Imagine what a bad day must be :(
I won a kahoot in health, and then I sabotaged myself in the second one we did to let someone else win :PVery gracious indeed.

Just got to Melbourne and the tap water here (and everything else) is so freezing. It's been freezing for the past while and this is probably the warmest day we've had in a while. I guess it takes a while to adjust to our weather aha!

Initial impressions?Sexiest laptop I ever did see. I got all black hahaha, classic me.
I'm really enjoying the in-built stand as well - it holds up and needs to be pushed to move, so it sits on my lap really well.Would not recommend having your laptop sitting on the edge of your bed with the stand out, then sitting up in bed and having it slide off the bed and hit the ground on the back/open stand (the side that would be sitting on you if you were using it), resulting in a shock to the stands hinges.
Have to get up at 5:30 tomorrow- really unimpressed. My condolences, I didn't enjoy waking up that early for placement either. Hope you get some sleep soon so that you are somewhat well rested! ^-^

Really good! How did you do this?
Thank you!
I used paint 3D (default program on my laptop) and sketched the outline and creases in pink pencil. (Lots of erasing and staring at my left hand to figure out what the angles, sizes etc. of various parts should be). This became my guide for everything else. Veins were added in pencil initially, later I realised it was too grainy and went over with the paint brush tool but by that stage I'd already added skin tone so I had to go back and (attempt) to correct the skin tone as well so it wasn't too blue. For the skin tone I mostly used the spraycan tool with various levels of opacity & size. Then I added an outline in that colour with the brush tool, erased shading outside the lines & that's it!
I've had a grand total of 11 job applications rejected just this very month (including MacDonald's!!!!) Guess it's my own fault for not working when I was young (hence I was cheap to hire) and now I have no work experience and I'm old. How's everyone's life going? Hopefully better than mine ;)I know how you feel. I got my first job at age 18, just before I started uni. I wrote many applications before getting my current full-time job. Don't let failure set you back. :)

i got my year 12 timetable today.
Currently watching the Harry Potter films out of order.

Funnily enough, the ONLY website that is somehow working is ATARnotes.

Hi, my name is insanipi, and I just started reading my 115th book for the year.
This is the most books I've read in a single year based on Goodreads and still idk how I've read so much 😅
That's a pretty incredible effort. I wouldn't have got through 115 in the last decade haha. Is it ever a chore for you, or do you pretty much always enjoy the process?I mean some of the review books feel like a chore at times (because there's a deadline to read them by), otherwise I pretty much enjoy the process! 😊
Today is the first time since moving out that I've accidentally included a tissue in my clothes washing. I also vacuumed my floors this morning.
This is extremely mundane. Thank you.
Today is the first time since moving out that I've accidentally included a tissue in my clothes washing. I also vacuumed my floors this morning. This is absolutely heart breaking. Its like, you have to deal with the wet pieces of tissue but then there's also the remnants that dry onto your clothes and are so annoying to remove. The tissue always has the last laugh.

Also, I've been making homemade bubble tea. Can't figure out how to make it taste like store-bought but I'm definitely enjoying it.
strawberry black tea > blueberry green tea
Not sure where to rank my "bubble hot chocolate". I love it and hate it at the same time. ;D
Wait... how am I just learning that there is flavoured green tea??? ;D I thought that there was only just the yucky stuff that makes me gag every time I take a sip...Yeah, I have specially flavoured blueberry green tea and I mix in the juice of frozen blueberries that have been mashed and put through a sieve (and a little strawberry syrup) to make my tea!
//It's my birthday on Monday, and I feel the exact same thing, (unfortunately...). Does that mean your birthday is on December 28th? How do you find having your birthday so close to Christmas? My friends are always busy if I want to do something so I generally put my party off until January if I'm going to have one.
Its my birthday in a week. I can tell I'm getting old because I'm no longer excited for my birthday. More like dreading it because it means I'm getting old and my childhood is almost over.
finally got my ears pierced and conquered my fear of needles. had so much fun picking pairs today!!I had my ears pierced literally some time after I was born. For some reason it's my oldest memory even though I was probably like 1 year old or something I still remember the sharp needle pain which is weird.

It was white chocolate. I hate white chocolate. My entire world has been rocked to its core.

I didn't catch the sunset tonight, although I did go for a walk under a brilliant sky of stars. I'm out in the country at the moment and with the clear sky we got tonight, the night sky was fantastic. I would have liked to lay down and stare up at it for a while, but alas I was being assaulted my bugs.
I tried to get a photo, but it turned out embarrassingly poorly.
My dad made a bet with me at the start of the year that I wouldn't be able to go the whole year without drinking coke.Love this K, and it reminds me of a very eventful event all the way back in 2017.Spoiler(https://i.imgur.com/p5RFSf0.jpg)
But tonight I prove him wrong. When the clock strikes 12, I will not be shouting out "HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!". No! Instead, I will be cracking open a can of no sugar and chugging it down while "We Are The Champions" plays in the background. It will be a sweet victory.

I enjoy lemonade, but would never over-drink, usually have like half a cup every night or second night, so like 1/3 of a can with some gaps of weeks. Anyway, one night my mum got mad and started saying I drink too much soft drink, and I basically said I could stop right now if I wanted to, and she didn't believe me.
From that point, I didn't drink a single drop for about 8 months ;D I drink lemonade occasionally these days, but nothing else.
I'm gonna be taking cold showers from now on. Had my first cold shower today and I must say it was really uplifting and the cold water made me alert instantly. I'm doing it because apparently it has a bunch of benefits some of which are direct, others not so, but also because cold showers mean I'll spend less time in there as I don't want to be cold and thus saving water which is always a priority!I'd like to do this, but I also have no willpower.
On a side note my skin seems to be looking much better than before..

I'd like to do this, but I also have no willpower.Same! I contemplated this for the longest time but I must say it is worth it. Now after like the 3rd day I practically don't even care that it's cold water and really I don't even miss the warm showers now.
You kind fellow, have changed the course of my life forever. Just had my first cold shower 30 mins ago and it is the most incredible thing. I use to shower with water that quite literally scalded my skin. Never thought of trying the opposite extreme but my skin feels clearer, reduced shower time by like half, not to mention that it’s SO refreshing after a long 33°C day. BlesssssThat's great! Yeah see my skin feels so much better too. It's definitely doesn't become a bit dry like from a hot shower and plus it seems to glow a lot more.
Same! I contemplated this for the longest time but I must say it is worth it. Now after like the 3rd day I practically don't even care that it's cold water and really I don't even miss the warm showers now. Will you still take cold showers in the winter months?
Will you still take cold showers in the winter months?I think the trick is to make sure the temperature of the water is below room temperature. This makes sense scientifically because really it's not the fact that the water is cold that makes a difference but rather that it's not as hot or hotter than room temperature. Skin dries because the hot water strips your skin of moisture, I'm pretty sure this won't happen as long as it's cooler than room temperature. Obviously I think it still must be below a certain threshold.
I typed the unit code for one of the units I'm taking this semester into google...That is pretty funny!
And legitimately at the bottom of the first page of search results is my AN uni journal! Had a bit of a giggle! ;D
I have a possum that comes onto my balcony at night just to knock my plants over. Doesn't eat them or anything. At first I thought it was the wind, but I noticed that it was the same plants each time. Last night I could hear something on the balcony and there it was, knocking over my plants.is your possum secretly a cat?
I ran out of milo.....lol, same ;D
My Netflix subscription ran out and now I have nothing to do
Get a free one month trial at Stan instead ;)I already had a free trial for Stan which ran out a few weeks ago :(
Speaking of Stan, just finished all nine seasons of 'How I Met Your Mother'How did you find it?
How did you find it?
I did a run through of it about a year ago when it was still in Netflix - although it wasn't my first time

We have fish now! My dad got 4 guppies, a sucker fish and a beta fish, whose name is now Sensei Woo. My cat seems to be enjoying it so far.Spoiler(https://i.imgur.com/1pCrVXO.jpg)
That is adorable. Does your cat just sit there all day?

We got our year 12 jackets!
We got our year 12 jackets!
Now, this is something to celebrate for!!Yes, it's a bomber jacket! And I'm not sure about it being 'stylish' as such haha, but I really like it!
Does it look stylish on you? 🤣 (Is it like a bomber jacket/jumper/etc?)
Yay thats super exciting!!! Do you get to wear them to school everyday?Yes!!! Finally no more blazers!

Thats awesome! We only get to wear ours twice a week........and only get them text term.
Just tutored my first student. Didn’t know I liked teaching so much ;D
i passed the first part of my first 3/4 sac with flying colours ;D
Nice! Was it as you expected?Even better. I was just in the flow of things while making sure to ask many questions as possible so they themselves answer it. It was pretty gratifying, seeing them go 'I get it!!!" and their improvement throughout the lesson.
It's 2pm and I'm falling asleep reading papers.
I went to get a coffee and I somehow managed to order something other than what I usually get and it wasn't actually that bad 😂
What'd you get?Flat white ahaha

Two of my close friends don't like mint.
Four people I spoke to last night agreed unanimously that they hate mint. :o
Why do so many people I know hate mint? I love it, come at me
I wanted to have a 20min nap but instead slept for 2 and a half hours. Oops (it was a very nice sleep though)How good are naps though?!

Have discovered that chocolate eggs trump cake in my youngest siblings eyes, despite us telling them about why cake is also on the menu today 😂Happy Birthday Lou! Hope you enjoy the cake (and the chocolate eggs) ;D

My sister just asked me if you could use a 3D printer to print with chocolate. I had never wondered about that myself, but what an interesting question for a young'un to ask. 😂If 3D printers don't print with chocolate I don't want it

Hi, AN Notes community!
Similarly to J_Rho, I am making my own website to start my own tutoring business! So hopefully it turns out okay because I honestly don't know what I would do if it didn't. I'm thinking of calling it Study You where each tutoring/education program is personalised based on each user as well their individual academic abilities and would have the ability to support self-paced learning and study. Also, through my website/tuition services, I am planning to support every type of learning style (e.g. auditory, visual, kinaesthetic etc.) through various modes such as YouTube videos, worksheets, powerpoints, "podcasts" and more!
I'll definitely update you guys when I publish my website! I can't wait to share it with you all :)
Have a great week and kind regards,
Darcy Dillon.

For the very first time, I'm going to donate blood, and I have this very mixed feeling of being excited and terrified at the same time. This feels like adrenaline 24/7.Ooh good luck and thanks for donating :D I remember being so nervous the first time I donated, then it was fine. The needle hurts a bit as it goes in but the free food makes up for it and the staff are always really nice! I donate plasma now which takes longer but can do more frequently
- Get to work with an interesting data set for an assignment (microplastics in the Yarra and Maribyrnong over 3 years)
- See interesting patterns and form research questions (change in amounts of particular plastics found after high rainfall)
- Digging a little deeper, the patterns were very likely just from rainfall changing across months while human pollution changed across months too :(
Do I want to know how bad the consequences of this are? :(
OK, I'll ask because I'm curious, but it sounds like it could be quite different from your research so feel free to ignore:
1. Do you compare at all with other comparable river systems?
2. I assume plastic levels also affect biodiversity? (though so I guess might rainfall?)
I have a candle burning throughout the work day, and my black coffee right next to it. They're of similar size. The number of times I've gone to drink from the candle, I tell ya.Does this candle smell of coffee too?

(Apparently there are places where you can buy such a candle)

If you did actually drink from the candle you could probably wax lyrical about the experience. :)
My physics class did a role play today for something fun (it was quite entertaining). It was called "Quantum Weirdness" and I played Werner Heisenberg :)
Did I learn anything about quantum mechanics? No. But I did learn that I am pretty terrible at German accents
This is especially entertaining to read since Heisenberg's uncertainty principle is in the vce physics curriculum but not in qce (iirc it's also in hsc/nsw).
The fire alarm in my house went off (dw, false alarm).Aww bless, this is the most wholesome thing I have heard all-day
My (toddler) nephew lives with me. He went to save the day by putting on his firefighter helmet as soon as he heard it.
Today marks my 3 year anniversary on ATAR Notes (ATAR Notes-iversary?)! I've learnt so much from this wholesome community, and wholesome it will always be! <3

Happy ANniversary. ;)

Just saw a report that said koalas are "on course to be extinct by 2050 in the wild of NSW". As someone who lives in an area where there are koalas in VIC (only part time, bur still), this saddens me. I wondered how can this beautiful landmark of Australia be dying out?
I really want to join in on conservation efforts.
There is always more we can do to protect our environment.
I was at the shops and decided to stop to get some chips and potato cakes. I repeated myself 3 times before realising she was confused because the silly canberrans call them potato scallops. OopsyOopsy!
Glasses wearers of AN, how do you avoid / minimise foggy glasses with the mask and glasses combo? :)Pull mask up a little higher works best for me, with the glasses forming the seal
Have to go into school tomorrow for a SAC!

Having had several covid swabs now, I've decided ADF personnel have the best and least unpleasant swabbing technique.
I guess I'm a swabbing connoisseur now!
What makes a good swab? The throat makes or breaks it. They have to swab the tonsillar arches so very easy to make you gag, but if you don't poke and are a bit more gentle it tends to hold off the gag (depends how strong your gag reflex is). Also speed is a big factor.
As you can maybe tell, I have too much time on my hands right now.
This almost sounds like you're getting tested as something to do rather than because it's something you have to do. Would be a strange hobby to haveHaha more just that I have too much time on my hands if I'm analysing the technique used on my swabs.
I actually talked to another human at uni today that isn't apart of my lab group. It was actually nice 🥰Similarly went on a government sanctioned walk with mum (and my two youngest, dependent siblings) earlier and went through the nearest green space. One little girl popped up over a fence was like "OMG HUMANS COME TALK TO ME". 😂
This is cute, birds should be free https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpihk7-DMmEUnfortunately domesticated birds are mostly unable to survive in the wild. Most will die from predators, territorial disputes or lack of viable food source. Birds should be free, but some birds' domestic development leaves them lacking skills and initiative vital for survival. Especially when bred and raised separated from their natural habitats.
So many SAC's and Exams coming up :'(All the best for those!
Heading into my last week ever proper week of school tomorrow. Feeling all the feels.I'll feel those feels with you, I'm counting down the days I have left too! :)
Today I had an interview with my school's principal for a leadership position and then met a whole bunch of people at a new job.At least you had social skills at the start of the year. :P
Made me realise I've really got to step it up when it comes to talking to people haha. I reckon my social skills have deteriorated heaps over the course of this year.
At least you had social skills at the start of the year. :PBarely! :D
HSC Completed!
Today I did my last ever HSC exam, which was IPT and it felt very surreal and strange to think that 13 years of schooling have come to an end. I am excited about the future and university and now have time to relax! ;D
Also, goodluck to all VCE students who started their exams today, it will go fast and you can do it! ;D
Coolmate 8)
Woah, congratulations, Coolmate!! Enjoy your well-deserved rest ;D
I went to spotlight after the cool change hit and got more fabric to use for my shop!
How is the shop going? :)Slow atm, but I had a wholesale enquiry the other day! :D
I’m contemplating making a YouTube channel for whatever reason. Maybe for studytube related/inspired videos? I’m not even sure to be honest. I’m not that creative.Sounds cool, I am sure that you can be creative! What sort of video ideas did you have in mind?

Side note: The vast majority of people on youtube aren't creative.
Speaking of YouTube channels, PartyKing1234 and I finished recording another cover today so hopefully it'll be up on my channel soon ;D-clicks refresh repeatedly-

Oh wow! That’s so cool! What’s your YouTube channel called? I would love to listen to your covers :)
Shameless plug but the cover is now out ;D Hope you all have a happy Valentine's Day!
I think I've officially become a uni student by my increase in coffee intake. One of us, one of us!
I passed my driving test!!!!Congrats Geo! :)
Driving on my own feels weird......
Does anyone here take naps and find them to be refreshing?
As a not-a-nap person, I ended up taking a ~two hour~ nap and the sleep inertia is strong (which could be explained by waking up in the middle of the deep sleep portion of the sleep cycle). This should teach me a lesson to not go to bed at 1am when I have to wake up at 7:30am the next day.
Does anyone here take naps and find them to be refreshing?I find a 20-30 min nap refreshing, but don't go over this - otherwise I feel weird and tired. I find after a nap I need to make sure I get up and do something so I don't just feel drowsy, and then I'm good to go

Also book related > I'm currently number 30 in the library hold queue for a Colleen Hoover novel. I bet the public libraries are loving the surge of books on hold now that the book recommendation scene on tiktok has fully taken off 😂It's not just booktok that's big on CoHo, but also bookstagram 😂
I recently got Audible and gotta say, I've already shot through 2 books, and started a third. Having a catalogue of free books on top of the ones I have to use a credit or pay for is very dangerous.
Three or four months ago my brother persuaded me to get the e-audiobook app for our library. And it looks like I've already borrowed and listened to 29 audiobooks (some short dramatisations, some 20 hours+), and have a list of at least 100 more I'd like to get to at some point. And it keeps growing...I have hundreds on both Overdrive and Borrowbox I'd like to get to as well, I get you 😂
Triple post!Perks of being part of the riff raff: my siblings are also home so I can guarantee I shall not be getting much sewing done 😩
The upcoming labour day public holiday reminded me of this. Sucks to not be part of the riff raff.
