What subjects will I need to do to get an ATAR above 90?

Hi!

The course I want to get into requires an ATAR of above 90. I know that some subjects are scaled poorly so I was just wondering what subjects I will need to do to get an ATAR above 90? I am generally pretty good at sciences such as chemistry and biology, however, math is my weak point. If I do general math, will I still be able to get an ATAR above 90 if I achieve an A in it??

Thanks for your help!

:)

This is a very common question on AN so you should be able to find the same answer elsewhere.

-Choosing subjects that scale up doesn't inherently improve one's ATAR
-Scaling is there to make all subjects equal so students are not disadvantaged by choosing subjects with stronger cohorts
-There are definitely those who had all their subjects scale down but still able to get a 99+ ATAR.
-You will generally do better if you choose subjects that you are interested in and thus more motivated to study in.

You can get an ATAR of over 90 with any subject combo. Also scaling won't matter assuming you do really well in the subjects you pick. A study score of 49 in art is still worth the same as a 49 in chemistry even though chemistry is a more difficult subject in the eyes of many. Please just ignore the scaling if you can, I know people at my school picking harder subjects for scaling and really hate it.
