hopefully but not likely medicine, or arts/law. if I bomb out on VCE then just arts and try to transfer I guess
my bf applied for medical imaging last year! :P except he chose to do nuclear med at RMIT instead. which is a very similar course hehe
-
Does that mean he will be moving to America soon? I have no clue what those courses are about =S
Scuse the ignorance =P
-
I wanted to go to monash, but parents said no :( there was an awesome double degree teaching and commerce, oh how i wanted to that course
-
america? :?
RMIT is in victoria :P
(EDIT: I can't spell victoria lol)
nuc med is basically injecting ppl with radiation to kill cancer. lol.
odette how come you can't go to monash??
-
monash would be good for me, so close like a 8 min drive
-
Yeah Monash is good because it's close. :) I'm hoping to do a double degree but only if I get the score I want. =]
-
Arg, Monash is my first choice for music, but without the option of doing engineering along side that Melbourne has..
-
I want to go to Monash.. wait I would LOVE to go to Monash!!
Im hoping for:
Arts/Education
or if that fails just Arts..
if that fails i will take Arts at Monash Caulfield (if they offer it too me!)
Arts @ Monash ftw. Trumps all others! woot!
-
MONASH! Love Monash :D
Wanna do Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering/Bachelor of Science in the Merit program. Zomg *orgasms*
-
Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering/Bachelor of Science in the Merit program. Zomg *orgasms*
-
GO MONASH!
science advanced with honours or science/engineering
melbourne's too far away, considering monash is a 20 minute bus ride each way
-
i want to do
Engineering/commerce
OR
Engineering/science
OR
Pharmaceutical Science/Engineering
OR
Commerice/Science
At monash....
YAY! Go the double degrees!
-
out of all things why commerce?
-
out of all things why commerce?
I like money..and im interested in the share markets/property investing....
Bachelor of commerce sounds cool I guess
-
LOL @ "i like money"
mhm..
-
Fair enough, haha. I'd like to diffuse the sentiment that wanting money primarily is a bad thing. I mean, it's personal preference. It's hammered into lots of people's heads that it's wrong to value money first, and there's the perception that people who do are stupid.
It comes down to personal preference though, and we really don't have an absolute moral standard to criticise. This isn't entirely directed to you Prav, it's more directed to society, and it's my little rant :)
I guess there is some merit to try and value non-material aspects of life, which I'm sure she does, but sometimes money aids that, and if that's her opinion, it's fine for her to go about it :)
-
I have a couple of Monah courses on my preferences (Arts, Arts/Law) but it's so damn far from where I live!
-
out of all things why commerce?
engineering/commerce is an awesome degree. grads can move into business and are, apparently, eligible for higher positions, cos they do a higher level of maths than the normal commerce grad. apparently.
oh i want to do engineering/commerce @ monash
-

yer monash is pretty far for me as well, like from the western suburbs all the way to clayton i'll be travelling all around victoria lol, but it's either monash or monash and i choose....MONASH hehe
-
Monash is too far from my place too. Takes my mate over 2 hours to get there, he lives a couple minutes from my place!
-
I want to get into MBBS at Monash.
Tough competition,though.
-
I want to get into MBBS at Monash.
Tough competition,though.
Especially with the Melbourne Model and the change of the undergrad med to post-grad/grad(which one's the right term?) ... causing more people to apply for Monash med.
Lol, just like law. It's gonna be super competitive from then onwards.
-

Same, but i'm a rural kid, so i get more leeway with my shite UMAT.
I'll know by the end of this week whether or not they'll offer me an interview under DRL
-
Lucky rural kids
(So Disadvantaged  )
-
out of all things why commerce?
I like money..and im interested in the share markets/property investing....
Bachelor of commerce sounds cool I guess
property investing, should be B.Environments major Property in UniMelb
-
if its property investing then it would be either: http://www.unimelb.edu.au/HB/facs/ARCH-S10350.html
or
http://www.unimelb.edu.au/HB/subjects/333-307.html

oh must be the melb model
-
I want Monash reallyyyyy bad ! :) But it is really far from me too . I live like 2 hours by train away from it . Might move next year though ? Depends I guess .. Lol I need to know if I get in first :( I was thinking I might do Biomed and then transfer if I find anything else interesting.. Do you know whether transfers are easy in Monash ? Because I'm worried that if I get into Monash Biomed, I won't be able to transfer to another course after it .. Because I heard Biomed actually has not many job prospects .. So I was just hoping I could get into it in hopes of transferring after a year or something .. :)
-
I'm going for Biomedicine/Law or Science/Law.
-
I'm going for Biomedicine/Law or Science/Law.
Out of all things, why Law?
-
Lol first it was
Out of all things why Commerce?
and not its
Out of all things why Law?
You do law don't you?
-
LOL yes. Just curious as to why people choose law or commerce.
-
i figure law would be good as far as job opportunities go, i've also wanted to work as a human rights lawyer so with biomedicine yeah it could be very helpful.
-
ah yeah, i know someone who is doing that very course you want to do: law/biomed @ monash
-
what is the min enter for that double degree? the biomed/law at monash?
-
I think it is Medicine/Law rather than Biomedicine/Law.
You can check extra info on this website:
http://www.med.monash.edu/medical/combined.html
-
oomg that degree is hardcore over kill
-
It's Biomedical Science/Laws.
http://www.monash.edu.au/study/coursefinder/course/3356/
Clearly in:
98.6 Domestic CSP;
94 International;
94 Domestic full fee
-
Yes. Both those degree are hardcore.
Actually, I heard from a mate of mine that there is this good MERIT engineering program at Monash.
-
oomg that degree is hardcore over kill
lol. exactly. why would anyone stay at uni for 8 years to get both degrees when it's not even that useful. it's not like you can be a medi-lawyer or something.
-
It is actually 7 years.
You have a good point. Though I personally know of a med/law student who graduated from UNSW(UNSW used to do med/law) who is earning 500K+ a year.
-
it's not like you can be a medi-lawyer or something.
Sure you can. McDonald's will always need to be sued.
-

lol. Actually good point, because with the obesity problem there could be a rise in the demand for med lawyers

My bad.
CEOs earn lots more than that, and they don't need a medicine degree
lol at suing McDonald's. I wonder how much money that'll pay out .......
-
Though, I would prefer a normal med degree anyday(IF i get in), because its much shorter and focused.
I still want a life.

Hm, well Monash Uni Caulfield Campus is right next to Caulfield station. So if you don't mind taking the train alot from where you are, then you'll be fine. (assuming you have access to trains). If you decide that you really want to get into architecture, then the 1 hour travel will be worth it in the long run instead of doing an alternate course and looking back to say: I wish I had done yadda yadda.

hopefully everything will go well after i get my enter score.

I think omidjavidi (from BoS) wants to (at Monash). I tutored him, and from what I heard, he was very keen on it!
