So all my SAC marks are out and I was wondering if it is still possible to pull a 40 RAW. My sac marks range from A+ to mostly A's and one sac on B+ so my marks are as follows:
Unit 3 AOS1: 36/40=90% (A+)
AOS2: 26/30=87% (A)
AO3: 25/30=83% (A)
Unit 4 AOS1: 46/60=77% (B+)
AOS2: 32/40=80% (B+)
My overall average for this subject is 83%

Please be very honest with me and thanks for your time.

Hi,
I think it is more about how you are ranked in the class. Also comes back to if your sacs are difficult or not.
I am also doing Economics and got all B+ in semester 1 but luckily got 2 As in semister2.
It also comes back to how you go in your exam.
This is my first post here hope it makes sense.

Very nice:)
In terms of my ranking I don't think I am ranked in the top 5 of my cohort and my SAC marks are moderately difficult (they are similar difficulties to the VCAA exams).

Hi again,
I think you still have a chance of getting 40. It is generally about how well you would go in your exams.
The sac score for unit 4 only contribute 25%. So I think you have a good chance of getting 40 if you do well in exams
Hope this helps.

Hi Stormbreaker,
I can help you with this have you had a look at VCCA grade distributions?
Just google 'VCCA grade distribution 201x' and you can see what percentage each grade is, GA 3 is the final exam
https://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/statistics/2019/section3/vce_economics_ga19.pdf
In 2019, an A+ for the exam was (89%) or 71.5/80
https://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/statistics/2020/section3/vce_economics_ga20.pdf
In 2020, an A+ for the exam was (91%) or 72.5/80
When you read it you will see that the exam is marked out of 160 not 80, and that is because all exams are marked twice!
For a 40 given you SAC marks, and unknown rank aiming for an A+ in the exam is in your best interest (but maybe a high A can get you in the 40s I'm not completely sure)
All I can say is try to strive for a 90%+ on the exam, this is a difficult task but all you can do is try your best and a reminder that the high 30s is still a great score regardless.
The only way to get to that A+ is to do many practice exams and take the time to read the examiner report to see where you went wrong and HOW to improve on that (specifically any gaps in knowledge or ability to write succinct short answer responses)

I will try to get an A+ but with that being said will a study score of 50 still be possible? I would love that 50 in my favourite subject.

Bump ;)

Yes you can still get 50 your scores are relatively decent and tbh if you really smash the exam then it will be moderated up

It is such a relief to know that any score is still possible.
