Title: Sample Introduction for Argument Analysis
Post by: ^^^111^^^ on May 18, 2022, 10:39:47 pm
Hi AN!

I was just wondering if anyone had the time to look over my introduction for Comparative Language/Argument Analysis task.

I've written in response to the 2014 VCAA prompt which I have linked below.

In recent times, there has been debate between the necessity of funding for space exploration and the need to give importance for more pressing issues. As a result, there has been many articles depicting the sides of this issue, with Yvette Yergon's opinion article, "Exploring our dreams", being primarily aimed at space enthusiasts. She supports space exploration as a necessity that the government must give its attention to. In response to her, the author of the letter to the editor, Dr Peter Laikis, condemns this viewpoint, sardonically advocating against space voyages in order to focus on other affairs. While Yergon opts to encourage spending money on space travel, Laikis opposes this argument by emphasizing on the futility of wasting resources for something needless.

Please tell me if this is enough for an intro, which parts are terrible and what I need to improve on. Thank you!!!
