So how did everyone think they went for both exam 1 + exam 2? Total is 120..
-
I'd say 100+. So I picked the second option, in case I overestimate. LOL.
I liked exam 2.. alot. :D
-
after coming home and seing the answers that u guyz got: i did less well than i thought in the exam room :(
-
did anyone have time to chk? I was doing the last part of the last Qs when i heard "Pens down" ><
-
i totally forgot about the last question until i flicked through the whole exam paper in the last 10min :?
-
I didn't have time to check the MC.
-
I only lost one mark in Exam 1, but i'm not too sure how well i did on Exam 2. Dropping 9 marks would be surprising, so i think i will get above 110 (barely)

same here, i hope i dun lose more than 5 in exam 2.. so far i've lost 3...
-
i do CAS, also got 39 on the first one...but i'm VERY pessimistic about how i did today, so picked the 90-100 range :(
-
I think about 90: 30 on exam 1, 60 on exam 2. Although it's entirely probable that I lost more than 20 marks on exam 2.
-
im thinking lost 1 from exam 1 and prolly 6 from exam 2..i wonder what study score is possible..
-
80-90 perhaps? Who knows.
-
i just want a 38+ grrr but b/c of exam 1 i dont think its gonna happen
but this exam was good :D
-
Range:
112 minimum to 118 Maximum.
Hoping for the best

Hoping for the best but expecting the worse~ Forever Young~ i want to be... XD
i say i lost 5-10marks( im sure some stupid mistake would haunt me. I just can't pinpoint what it is)
-
YES 50 for me ! :)
-
Below 60 lol
-
what score for exam 2 would you likely to get if u did all the "method marks" and got most qstns; but didnt get the 'correct' answer for 5-7 qstns; i.e. wrote 14.5 instead of 14.7 ???
-
what do you think the A+ borderline would be. im sure it won't be like last year's. 73.5 out of 80... what a joke... lol
68/80?
-
My tip is 70/80 :)
-
See how they say:
Exam 1= 22%
Exam 2= 44%
SACS = 34%
How do these results come out to be a total.Do they just add 160, 80 and 100?
-
separately.
for each result, VCAA calculates your standardized score.
i.e. just say you scored 22/40 for exam 1, and the median was like 21, your z-score (standardized score) will be just above zero. (we learnt this in methods). just assume your z score for exam 1 was 0.0112845
and then with the z-score they multiple it with the % it is worth
so 0.0132845 X 22%
(called weighting X standardised score)
They do that for all the components of the study score.
Add it up altogether to give your weighted total.
and just say you end up with something like 1.051251... is equivalent to a 36 study score. get me?

if FSN found it hard. i think the whole state found it difficult. i reckon mid-high 60s for an A+ for exam 2 methods.

Chemistry Unit 3 certainly wasn't like that though...

true. but that's chemistry. haha
-
Haha. Hmm... I wonder if FSN actually is the upper end. It certainly seems like it's going to be ENTER > 70, or something, but a group like ENTER > 90 (MHS, for example) would be much better at evaluating A+ cut-offs.

so true. i asked a couple of mates from MHS and they told me that the methods exam was hard. haha. can anyone else confirm this?
-
yeah mhs kids did find it on the tougher side...like the mid range kids im talking about. As fort eh upper ranges, they would have lost about 2-3, i knwo our methods prize winner (i.e best mark in sacs all year) dropped at least 2. So u can guage for yourself.

so its fair to say that you can afford to drop about 2 marks on exam 2 and 1 mark on exam 1 to get a study score of 48+ then rite?
-
no idea, but all im saying is that some mhs kids found it hard as well (i.e induced stupid errors). However, while mhs is above average as a cohort, u have freaks from everywhere. Like u can have peoplpe who will get 50 no matter what hardness from non-mhs schools. so while its an indicator, its not definative.
-
110+ i'm guessing
don't think i dropped a mark on exam 1 except possibly that anti diff q
exam 2 i know i stuffed up 2 q which were worth 5 marks total IIRC
ah well, at least no more methods
btw what raw ss would i be looking at cheers in advance
-
Probably 45
Man I am so pissed I put probability of p=3.414. #$#^$%$^%#$(Pr always <1).

after exam 1 was hoping to get a 47/48 but id certainly take a 45
-
You never know, you might fluke that 47/48....
-
lol, the poll results seem to be opposite to the normal distribution.
-
Very skewed
-
Very skewed
was going to say an inverted normal graph

Thanks mate
Now I get it. (Btw, do you know what sort of standardised score you would need to get to get a 45-50?)

well you can kinda work it out cant you? z = (x - u)/sd (the equation we learnt in methods for standardised score)
