Don't expect any replies, but I might as well try my luck.. haha
What did everyone think of the exam? I thought it was a lot more difficult than the past exams - especially Section C..... a lot of people wouldn't have known how to rotate and shrink the Y in the logo!!
I thought I did good though :)

I think it was fairly straight forward, i had time to redo all my questions. My major concern was the fact that the examiners did not specify, nor allocate marks for using the correct font for the animation in section C. Other then that, the exam was seemed easy, i believe it was a lot easier then the previous year in terms of the theory component.

Well to make it difficult our teacher knew absolutely NOTHING about Multimedia, and we all had to teach ourselves pretty much everything... I did well considering the circumstances. lol.
I actually found the exam a bit more difficult than the previous years though. There were some questions in there that had never been asked before.. not that I couldn't answer them though :) I think.. haha

did we actually have to shrink the text? will i lose a lot of marks if i didnt?
i thought it was okay, very weird though. much different to previous years

Yeah you had to have the Y rotate in from the left side and shrink into its final position at the same time - you'll probably only lose one mark so I wouldn't stress too much. lol.
When do they post up the exams on the vcaa website?

OH actually something I was a little unsure about - what did you guys put as the hostname in the first question in Section B?
I put www.microsoft.com, and according to my teacher that was right, but some other people have been saying it's only microsoft.com..... I don't trust my teacher because he could NEVER answer questions we had about the past exams during revision with anything more than an umm or an ahh... My friend told me it could be both because they're both considered a hostname so now I'm really confused. boo.

Apart from one short answer q I thought was a bit dodgy, 4 marks asking something about the principle of uniqueness? or Something?
One mark was obvious just to make it one object, 2nd mark was a bit... =\

It was unity, and you lost 4 marks if you put that :p
Uniting objects in terms of the question referred to putting them on a common background (giving them the same purpose, putting them on a "road background" or something like that) or you could make them the same colour, size or make them face the same direction if you get my gist.

I wrote they could either make all of the cars red like the first one, or they could turn the last one in the opposite direction so all of the cars are facing the same direction - 4 marks yes? :D

i said make all cars same size and balance it out by being all in one line :D
hopefully 4 marks lol
as the exam is only worth 34% of the study score and 66% is coursework. For my assessment tasks i lost only like 2 marks throughout. If with the exam i got a High A-A+ what ss will i be looking at?

all exams moderate coursework - if you were ranked first in your class i wouldn't stress at all. if you do well in the exam (i.e. get a+) you're almost certainly guaranteed a SS of 40+.

just another question. what if someone below me in ranking in my class gets a better score than me in the exam?
what happens then? does he get the higher ss?

yeah if someone got a higher exam score than you they would also take your sac marks (you don't lose them though). all exams moderate sac scores regardless of how much they contribute to your study score because they are the only externally assessed component - they compare you to the rest of the state.

Reason why I was a bit cocky was because the teacher said i got >90% for the SACS (Out comes?)
And yea the exam is only 34% ( I think)
So yea, hoping for SS >40 :)

i just realised why i "forgot" how to rotate things in motion tweens - because my stupid teacher had Flash CS4 installed on the examination computers and we learnt on Flash MX all year......... jowevnijwrvrwjverkjvvr. CS4 doesn't have the same option to rotate CW/CCW/etc - it's instead buried inside all of the menus.
he's lucky i figured out how to rotate it with CS4 otherwise i'd be so pissed off.

you know how with the website, the content thing needed to be 600px wide. did you just set your table to a width of 600px yeh? also, for the links, did you just have them in the top right? with the words?

Exam will, and almost ALWAYS will, moderate the course work; so you can get straight A's throughout the year and then get an exam score of 75% and say goodbye to you 'straight A' sac scores.

Yep, i didn't know whether or not the table needed a border based on the design brief, i put one in just in case, it didn't look like they were allocating marks for it anyway.

I miss multimedia, I wish all exams were on computer.. can type so much faster than I can write.. haha

the tech guy at our school went round to each computer after we had finished and burnt them to a CD that VCAA supplied him with.
Are you sure they didnt do that?

when we left they apparently went to do that and found that the files holding our answers hadn't saved everything.. I just rang vcaa this morning and gave them my student number and they told me they were aware of it and that it was only the multiple choice section that didn't save properly, but apparently they "recovered" it.. I don't completely trust that though hmm...
