Ciao a tutti!

Who here is studying Italian this year??

A little freaked out atm as I was given ehaps of holiday homework for revision and was told to learn some grammar, but am yet to start any of it :S must get crackin!

Previous italian students, PLEASE feel free to share some tips for Year 12 Italian, what helped you do well, and anything you can suggest that may be helpful.
Also, how much work for italian did you rougly do per week? I'm not really talking about homework, more just revision and stuff you did for your own benefit. how much extra work would you reccommend?

i did french but this is still relevant
vocab is sooooooo important
because to have sophisticated language u must know sophisticated words and to learn them.
i'd just put post its everywhere.
talk to urself in italian.
talk to other italians (if ur not italian, im sure tehre are some old italian nonnas in ur street or somthing.

thats the best practise you could do. u'll learn a tonne of grammar throughout the the year anyway .
and good grammar use just comes with practice (which u could get by speaking to other italians

oh and make sure u tell them to correct u, etc when u make mistakes,

I've finally found all my work that I had to do over the holidays. It isn;t much really, just to read some sheets on technology and try and understand them.
I'm fairly confident about the writing component of the year, just not the oral :S :S :S  Lucky its 9 months away

Im doing Italian 3/4 this year, don't think im gonna do really well tho, keep struggling in the listening test. Anyone else think Italians talk 100mph!!

do you have any ideas what you are going to do your detailed study on? me.. niente!
atm we are just going over grammar before moving onto migration

Ours is chosen by our teacher which is migration. I am so happy about it, migration is so easy (may grandparents migrated so they know alot)  :)

i did consider doing migration for the d/s because i'd have a lot of knowledge on it from the area of study and my family history :)
have you done any SACs yet? i think our teacher is leaving ours until after we return from the holidays

Yes, a written one, about vacation in Italy. I didnt study for it, so I dont know how well I did. Probs not really good but alrite hopefully
