Let me tell you a story:
I originally applied to UMEP and was denied on account of my poor year 11 average. I should note, in my defense, International Politics is not a real subject and thus does not warrant any work/effort/high achievement, and I was a fool for thinking that I didn't need to work at English 1+2, and these two subjects really kicked the crap out of my average. However, I appealed with everything I, and my school had to throw at them and was accepted. The point is, if you want to and you get 40+ for methods (I got 44, which helped my appeal), you should be fine. The year 11 average is only so they can save their asses from people saying the workload impinged on their ability to manage time in year 12. If you're balancing your time effectively in year 11, they figure, it shouldn't differ in year 12 + one uni enhancement subject. However, again, it's only a measure to protect YOU (and, subsequently, themselves). If your school will fight hard enough for you like mine did, they'll reverse it, simply because the pre-requisite is there just to help
you rather than have any bearing on the course.
Your school knows
you better, and the good people at Monash probably realise this, and will listen to your school if it thinks you're capable.
So, in conclusion:
1) Get 40 in Methods
2) Don't worry about year 11
3) Enjoy Monash Enhancement Maths.
4)* Employ me as a tutor for the subject (H1 in UMEP maths).
*4) is advised, but not necessary.
Hope this was of help.
