Right here! ...You are not alone? 10 days late but...I am here...for you?

I always loved history, got my year 7 teacher and so far...she is reteaching basic dates and stuff that... surprisingly only people in my year 7 class knew (but she is a great teacher so I don't mind).

But...Unit 1 and 2 have nothing to do with 3 and 4 am I right (Greek/Roman history then Revolutions next year...hmmm.)
Hmm...next year already. Well better set my goals and all...(raw)

My history (mentioned before) is the Greek/Roman one...the only problem is in our school they offer Revolutions in year 12 so...eh...(complained about that on other board like 5 minutes ago after realizing Classic Cultures + Societies is an actual 3+4 subject...lol).
Hmm...next year already. Well better set my goals and all...(raw)

ohh okay. unit 1 is about conquest and resistance, we're doing that now. Is your teacher following the vcaa study design?

Were doing Classical Societies and Cultures Unit 1 and 2...(and then doing Revolutions instead of CS+S 3 and 4...wtf) so technically two different units of history. What is the VCAA study design anyway lol?

I enjoy history, is this subject worth doing next year (I'm currently in year 10). Or is it a subject that you can pick up for 3/4?

1/2 is interesting, but not necessary for 3/4. 1/2 is generally about the 20th century and you cover a lot of different topics (we did the fall of the traditional order as a result of WW1, Nazi Germany, the Cold War, and a few others). In 3/4, you tend to go into one area in depth - for example, with Revolutions 3/4, Unit 3 is about the Russian/French/Chinese/American Revolution and Unit 4 is about another of those revolutions. If your school offers it, you can also do Renaissance Italy 3/4 or Australian History 3/4 instead of Revolutions. You don't really cover the content of those in 1/2.

I guess 1/2 helps in terms of skills (like historiography), but the actual content in 3/4 is mostly different.

History also has a lot of reading involved, so you might want to consider doing the 3/4 in year 11.

Ok, that's good to know. Because I am currently doing 1/2 food and technology, so I wouldn't consider doing history as a 3/4 in year 11. As far as I am aware, my school currently offers Australian History but the year 11 history teacher wants to change it to Revolutions, so it could change.

So yeah, subjects wise for next year I am thinking 3/4 food and tech, general maths, English, a compulsory semeseter of texts with the other semester of history and VET Children's services. Just not sure what I would pick up in year 12.

I guess 1/2 helps in terms of skills (like historiography), but the actual content in 3/4 is mostly different.
