Sooooo... How do you guys write your main body paragrapghs? My friend suggested me to write on what i think on the prompt(explore it and all that), get an example from the text whcih supports and explore the implications on what i'm trying to say in my topic sentence and then write somthing about a real life situation where my ideas could come out to life.

What is the difference between retelling the plot and explore the main ideas from the text?

A tip my English teach gave our class was that if you start a sentence with "Then ...", you're retelling the plot and need to bring it back to your point. Essentially, if you're merely saying where it occurs in the text and discussing the implications in general rather than stating exactly what happened in the text, I would say that's fine.
