Question about same essay as another person

so me an few of my friends formed a study group for english and wrote a pretty good essay together (everyone contributed paragraphs etc).

So my question is, if we reproduce the same essay as another person in the exam, is it allowed? and will we get caught for it?

To be honest, there are something like 50,000 English students. Out of the 100s of accessors for them to remember two essays that are the same would be highly improbable.

Everyone does the exact same exam (and therefore get the same essay topics in the exam).

edit: Wait, I get what you meant: "How do they know if the essay topic they wrote on will be the same topic in the exam". I guess they can't really know for sure, but for most topics, the ideas or quotes you raise might be pretty similar.
