Enrollment into Melbourne High School (Year 11)

Hi everybody,

I am applying for Melbourne High School to enter year 11. First of all, I need to write an application form. I don't know what I can put down for the "Academic Achievement Section". I pretty much have my Co-Curricular section covered with my music and my debating. I also need to write a personal response and I am not exactly sure what to write down. Am I supposed to write why they should choose me? Why I am suitable for Melbourne High School? I'm not really sure...  Please can you guys give me some tips to writing an application form for Melbourne High? What type of "Evidence" do I need photocopied to back up my reasons? Thanks. 

Here are my "stats"
Year level: 10
VCE unit 1&2's: Chemistry and geography.
Other subjects: English, Maths (Advanced), Physics, Music and Multimedia.
Music: Trombone and Violin, I am in a senior stage band, a chamber strings group and a symphony orchestra.
Debating: For about 2 years.
Where I live: East Melbourne suburbs.
Future Occupation: Architect/lecturer of architecture.

Hmmmm, Academic Achievement

Think things like:
- Performance in ICAS/UNSW competitions (distinction or above)
- Performance in AMC (distinction or above)/challenge (distinction or above)/enrichment stage
- Performance in any other comps (BHP maths thingo, science olympiad exams, NCQ, etc.)
- Any scholarships to schools
- Being in a select entry program (or advanced class) in school
- Any VCE results so far


To my knowledge, the other section is a personal statement of why you would like to join MHS (include whatever you feel is relevant and makes your case stronger)

I think what they're looking for is someone who is relatively intelligent (not necessarily a genius), but more importantly who is involved in co-curricular activities and will really embrace all the opportunities that the school offers in following with the motto 'more than just marks'. So make sure you really show somewhere in your application that you're keen to learn, but you also integrate yourself well in quite a different of environment in making a well-rounded student.
