Thanks El2012! I don't quite get how you would lead the conversation during the detailed study? And memorise it completely? I'm so scared and stressed. -.-

You lead it from your 1 min intro really, the examiners don't know what aspects in particular you have studied. In terms of memorising, just memorise the points you know you have covered well in class, I might of had 30 questions I memorised or something (I made the questions up :) ).

Thanks! I've only got twelve days to write and memorise in the way you've described. Is it enough time? I'm at that stage where everything seems to be so overwhelming.

@El2012 did you find German or Italian more difficult? German seems like an awesome language to learn, and I'm guessing it had a huge mark-up as well.

I found German harder even though i started studying it from year 7 vs italian from year 9. The grammar in german is much more difficult IMO. I think italian was around +7 mark up, german +10.

Hence why I did two languages hehe

For mine, I had 4 I think. I'd say min 3, but i'd be inclined to say 6 is probably too much in that you only have 7 minutes to discuss them.

Memory is a bit hazy on this stuff, but I think 3 is the standard.

Hi everyone, this is a little off-topic but OP's question looks like it's been sudficiently answered.
Anyway, my question is about the topic of the detailed study. For French, can you choose anything you want? Obscure or not?
I'd ask my teacher but she doesn't answer emails on the holidays  :-\

Usually your teacher will decide. I had no other choice but to do the second world war and i was never good at anything history. :( However, depending on what school you go to, you could choose your own. But be aware that these detailed studies require a lot of information and research and if you were to select an obscure theme, be prepared to look for three good texts.

Hopefully I get to choose, I've done WWII to death throughout school. Does it have to be modern/relevant to today's French society?
