I did UMEP bio this year. Definitely recommend it!
In terms of difficulty, it is a lot harder than 3/4 bio. However, workload is much less than doing a fifth/sixth subject.
In my opinion you get a greater reward for your work than you do in VCE- Much easier to get a 4.0 increment than to get a vce raw 40.
Also the exams are mid-year and end of year, and are pretty much recognition. (Filling in the gaps and multiple choice)

Just incase someone does get in UMEP, would they have to attend all lectures / weeks or other classes? Because if someone has a year 12 SAC on the next day, and they would like to take that day ( of UMEP lecture or class ) off, would this be allowed?

yep you can skip lectures
