Evaluate the Empanelment of the Jury System?

What's your take on it? How would you structure it?


I'd say that this would be a 10 mark question.

For how many marks?

I think it would be similar to evaluating the extent to which the jury is an accurate cross-section of the community

It doesn't seem like a likely question at all since the study design doesn't require you to evaluate the empanellment.

Perhaps, outlining the strengths first, such as, as mentioned above, the jury being a cross section of the community because people are randomly selected to be part of the jury. Then maybe talk about the weaknesses such as the jury not being a true representation of the community due to the number of people ineligible or disqualified or excused permanently or for good reason, and or people may also be challenged during the empanellment.
