Sorry, another UMEP/UMEP Question by me :P ....

has anyone done the MUEP chemistry, or knows anyone who has done it? if so, how was it?
was it difficult? a lot of work? similar to VCE chem?

Thanks

If you do MUEP at clayton, you'll have Dwyer! I heard from my friend that it isn't too hard.

haha, i think clayton would be my third preference due to it being a little far :P whose Dwyer?

thanks.i hope it's not too hard, but i spoke to the Co-oridinator who told me of the contact hours expected and how if i'm doing 3/4 chem as well in year 12 -- it is "REALLY beneficial" which would be awesome:)

Dwyer is the best chemistry teacher ever! =D
I'm sure others can verify this as well

the Monash one is the only 1.5hr lecture per week, whilst the others are two, why would that be?

Hey guys,

I too am thinking about doing the enhancement chem program. I've had Chem Olympiad training(apparently the olympiad covers many first year concepts) and sat the exam.
Though, I'm only worried about traveling from school to Scotch or Monash(time constraints). I'm not sure which one I should go to(it's about the same distance).
Though, I've heard really good things about the lecturer from Scotch. Chris Commons.
Can anyone tell me, from their experience if the enhancement program took a lot of time out of their other studies, etc.
I'm planning on doing only doing 4 subjects in year 12-
Methods
English
Specialist
Chem
Uni Chem
ITA(Year 11)

Are uni subjects in general like VCE subs? From what I've heard they're similar but, the pressure isn't as great(since there are no SACs etc.)

2009-  IT: Applications [40]

2010- English | Specialist | Methods | Chem | MUEP Chem |

2011- ...Lets see where this road will take me.

^ i just read this then for some reason, and i'm also wondering if anyone knows much about Chris Commons as a lecturer, is he good? i am considering scotch as it quite a bit closer.

and Potter, uni subjects are not like VCE subjects, as i am told by them in chem, you do a lesson each week of just theory and then it's up to you whether you want to do your own study, and also doing assignments at home and such. you are not spoon fed any information in anyway, it's up to you how you study & how much effort you put in. i think it's a really good idea to do personally:)
