Hi there! Welcome to the forums :)

My all time favourite film is The Lives of Others. It's in German and it's about life in the GDR for artists. I think the links of emotion and love, but also state-responsibility and obligations is really strong in both The Spy and the Lives of Others. I'm sorry I can't think of any poems to go well! I studied The Spy but didn't use it in the HSC because I preferred my other two texts :)
