Hi.  I'm a teacher and I was keen to help you with your question. I am sure that you have probably finished this Area of Study now but hopefully it may help with your exam.
Rabbit Proof Fence was created in consultation with and about Indigenous Australians. So yes it is connected to awareness and perception. It is likely to have increased the awareness (knowledge) of Indigenous Australian cultural experiences (such as the experiences of the Stolen Generations).  It may have enhanced the perception (view) of Indigenous culture as a result of the feelings of empathy or respect for the resilience of these children.
