I'm unsure whether or not to partake in a higher education study as little information is provided by VTAC regarding general information of the courses. If you have completed or are currently partaking in a higher education study, please leave below information, including but not limited to, how the course/HES is graded, how the HES is taught, how many times a week and for how long it is taught, if it was online or in-person and if you found the experience valuable.
Kind Regards,
Spooky J

Hey, I’m currently doing UMEP Mathematics. The course covers two Uni subjects, Linear Algebra and Calculus 2, in the first and second school semesters, respectively. I attend a school centre once a week for a 2hr session, but the locations and time requirements vary by Uni and course. I’m finding the extension program extremely rewarding, and much more interesting than my VCE studies.

For UMEP Maths, there are 3 assignments per semester (25% weighting), and one exam (75% weighting). The teacher at the school centre I attend is absolutely incredible. If you’re passionate about the subject, and wanting to extend yourself beyond VCE, then I’d highly recommend considering the program.
2020 - Bachelor of Science, The University of Melbourne

2019: UMEP Mathematics Extension [First Class Honours (H1)], English [44], Specialist [42 ~ 52], Algorithmics (HESS)
ATAR: 99.50
2018: Physics [46 ~ 48], Methods [41 ~ 46]
