Hello,
I'm pretty new to the forums so I wasn't sure on how to add this into the question masterpost, but how would you write one? I always thought that writing my contention would be just mentioning my 3 main body paragraphs in a sentence, but I'm not too sure.
Thank you!

Whilst it is key to state contention and your three ideas in your introduction coherently and cohesively, relative to the other content you will discuss, this is minor.

That being said, some will argue that your three ideas should be three separate sentences, others will say into one sentence. IMO, the difference is minor, but I tell students to do so in three separate sentences, but nothing wrong with the former either.
