Does anyone here do Drama?

hello.

just curious if anyone on this board has done drama or know of anyone who has done it?

how did they find it? hard/challanging/easy? & how did they do?
it seems fun, but difficult to do well hmmm

any thoughts on doing drama would be helpful (considering it as a 6th 'fun' subject)

thanks,

vexX

I don't do Drama, but Theatre Studies, however because not too many people here do drama and preforming arts, I'll reply just in case no one else does!

What I've found with these subjects is that they are ones where it becomes easy to bludge your way through the year and do very little work. However you'll pay for that at the end of the year. Preforming Arts are heaps of fun though and they're great hands on subjects. I've found it especially enjoyable because I've been in a class with some other great actors. The plays you get to view are great as well.

One tip I'll give you is that when it comes to performances (whether they be plays, monologues etc) learn your lines as early as possible. This will give you a head start in really creating a great character, because the magic begins with you put down the script!
The dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.

lol, i always dreaded drama (did it in yr 7 and 8)...I remember my friends often wagged or went to sick bay just to get out of doing it in most occasions.

I did drama unit 1 and it's quite interesting. I personally think the theory is really easy and if you're creative you will have no problem with the theory or practical.

I was considering doing 6 year 12 subjects (as you know haha) and drama is one of those subjects I was considering.

yeah...99+ would be pretty nice but i have a feeling I'll probably muck up some of my subjects next year somehow (hopefully not). Actually...I think I'll rephrase what it says.

let me give you some advice although it is a year later.
DO NOT EVER DO DRAMA.
i chose it as my "6th fun subject"
IT WAS NOT FUN AT ALL. the sacs and stuff were good cos you didnt need to study, but the ensemble... and the end of year solo was horrible, stressed me out soo much, and its really hard - not fun at all.
maybe if you have a good teacher its different. my teacher was bad. but still, i never found time to do drama and stressed me out more the specialist. so yea.. hope it helped - or to any other people wondering about drama, since it doesnt make a difference now to you (:

I did drama this year and loved it.
Unlike someone who previously posted, I loved the ensemble and solo work.
Yes we spent a lot of time preparing them, but the end result were very good plays.
Drama is fun if you don't stress about it, just do the best you can do and it will be a very rewarding subject.
