Haha oh well :) Half-Cypriot, half-Uruguayan.

How about you (obviously Greek), where from?

Nice :)

I'm guessing you are still a fluent speaker then? It would have been good to do (there are only about 250 students can you believe it) but oh well you can always do it in uni if you have more to learn.

Anyway, good luck with the rest of your exams :)

haha kotzara with a pic like that mate, who would doubt your hellenism
cannot believe that only 250 people do greek for year 12...pretty shithouse considering the amount of greeks that live in melbourne.
the language is going to die out quickly

250 people out of the 50,000 or whatever it is?

Look, i think people just cbf learning all the alphabet and all the complex shit that comes with it... school is tough enough you know?

and i doubt it will die out (i hope it doesnt lol), too many things are greek in the world ;)

but ey its so much harder to get that higher study score, due to the fact that only the people that can actually speak fluent greek and understand the language perfectly, are doing it. there's only a small amount that are shit.
every year less and less kids are studying it for yr 12

and thanks aleitu1, you too! howd u go with the oral

You'd be surprised. There are a lot of kids doing it that aren't that great at Greek (including me, although I am improving). There is not one outstanding student in my class.

And Greek is quite easy these days - I mean about a third of the exam is answered in English.

http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vcaa/vce/statistics/2009/section3/vce_lote_greek_ga09.pdf 259 students last year. Our school has a class of six, and it's probably one of the biggest classes in the state.

331 in 2006, 469 in 2001 - there's a downwards trend. It's pretty sad :(
