Ok here are some examples from one organisation.
Organisation-Telstra
Operating Environment;
Customers- Telstra emphasies strong customer focus. For example, it maintains a comprehensive over-the-phone complaints service for its residential, small and large business, and government customers.
Competitors- An increased level of competition has occured in the telecommunications market, particularly in the STD,mobile and international areas. Competitors include Optus and AAPT. Telstra continually develops new products and services to try and maintain a competitive edge and in anticipation of, or in response to competitors' activities.
Special Interest Groups- Telstra's activities sometimes have an impact on groups other than its direct customers. For example, the rural community has expressed concern about the prospect of the loss of, or increased cost of, service to isolated areas.
Macro Environment;
Economic Conditions- Australian consumers continue to spend on products such as mobile phones and internet services. The trend is expected to continue. Sales of many Telstra products and services have increased.
Legal-Political Conditions- The telecommunications industry was fully deregulated under government policy and legislation by July 1997. As a result, a number of competing organisations entered the market.
Technological Factors- Telstra exists in a high-technology industry and is continually developing and applying advanced technologies. Some examples in recent times include mobile internet applications.
This example was taken from my business management textbook... Hope it helps
