Don't waste your money on checkpoints!

I've begun to get frustrated with the questions being incomplete and incorrectly worded in this years checkpoints.

One of the questions (Q5 Budgeting) failed to include the sales figure from the year before, and then incorrectly stated that cash sales were 50% of credit sales, and also said that it was from VCAA 2008. The question was from VCAA 2007, and the question from the actual exam stated that cash sales were 50% from total sales

Question 2 from Balance Day Adjustments had all the figures completely wrong as well.

And I've only done a few questions from checkpoints.
I also had the same problems the unit 3 version.

Just a heads up that you could probably get better revision material than checkpoints 2010.

Its such a shame that professional books stuff up =.='' I don't think they realise the stress they cause for people using them, for example, if you get one answer wrong all the time, with different methods.. then you're going to rage and waste more time on it.. Tsk, stupid books. HAPPENS TOOOOO OFTEN.

LOL?! what... I bought thinking it would be of great use... :\

I thought Cambridge were meant to be good... I've done a couple of the Checkpoints 2010 questions, they basically use the same questions over and over just with different figures depending on the year.

Also a forewarning, TSSM aren't that good either. I'm doing a 2008 TSSM Accounting paper and the solutions are riddled with mistakes... You'd think these companies could do some basic maths calculations... apparently not.

My old math teacher use to read through the essential math books and stuff, and corrected the text books (For year 12's only) You'd be surprised with the amount of workings/answers that are wrong.

You're better off putting collections of questions from older VCAA exams and CATs (1998 - 2003) that are relevant to the current course.
That's what I do before any SAC. Just go through all the old exams and find the questions relevant to the specific SAC.
You will also find that many older questions are simply repeated with different figures and names in current exams.

Hah yeah, a lot of the practice exams our school gives us are filled with mistakes too. I just found checkpoints more erroneous than most because they try to take questions off old VCAA exams that required the preceding sections, and then tried to make it their own by putting in figures which didn't work with the question. Ah well.
Money wasted indeed.

Cambridge has questions going back to 1998 for certain sections like Budgeting. LOL.

Answers are full of mistakes i've noticed and also some of the questions are just retarded.

If they charge $35 a book
Everything has to be right
Otherwise it’s a rip off
