Does anyone know what sort of marks are neded on the exam to get a high study score, as in 46+?

Also, does anyone have tips on how to go about answering exam questions? Mostly I need to know how to ensure that I have everything necessary written down for each answer without having to write a page for each one. Because it seems that however much I write, the suggested answers will always have more or will have covered the question from yet another angle that I hadn't considered.
2009: Legal Studies [41]
2010: English [45], Maths Methods [47], Economics [45], Specialist Maths [41], Accounting [48]

2010 ATAR: 99.60
