I went to the first one last year. I remember that our little tute group was in some maths building, judging by the signs/posters in it :P

To be honest, it wasn't useful from my point of view and was just going over what you already know. However, an excursion is always good :D

Nah, no free lunch/food last year.

That little KFC nearby doesn't do well when 100 kids swarm it. :P

It's also generally good to hear something from another person's point of view. Ie, the excursion can do you no harm

And probably about 1/3rd of everyone doing EL goes to this thing, so yeah. :P (that number is a rough guess, it'd very most likely be > 1/4 though. This is based on last year there were ~250 people on the day I was there, and it ran for 2 days)

hey, i'm going to both! i think i was the only one in my class that wanted to do the competition, but then i pressured my friend into doing it as well. sounds kind of lame to be honest, hahaha

haha my UMEP Linguistics lecturer at UniMelb (Dr. Rachel Nordlinger) was part of organising that competition..good luck! :)

I'm a Distance Ed EL student...so I should probably turn up to one of those Enrichment Days...but I'm too lazy lol

YES distance ed is absolutely killing me too, kitty! I have an excellent tutor for it who I see every week, but still, I can't believe the amount of work we're expected to hand in every week. I've done well on my SACs, but I'm way, way behind on my coursework!
