http://psc.vu.edu.au/

do it online on Tuesday 29th of July, free registration
nothing prestigous, but good for the fun of it. Answer everything right and get to go to footscray campus for a competition, there's a few little prizes here and there, top prize is a scholarship at School of Computer Science and Mathematics [lol :P]

but do it for the good fun. I did it last year =] they bring some fresh materials to that aren't as boring as school work.

DO IT! and register soon. it closes a day before the competition.

ps, i just remembered, the finals is on the open day. but that's okay, do it for the fun anyways xD

I remember this competition being a whole level of magnitude easier than the BHP Billiton competition or the Australian Maths Competition. But then again I did this competition when it only just started in 2004, so maybe (hopefully >:D) they've made it harder since then.

The prizes are awesome though. I got the top prize which was a $250 voucher for Angus & Robertson. They didn't give out scholarships back then =(.

I think the $250 Voucher is worth more than a scholarship at VU :P

I also received the $250 book voucher (borders) back in 2006. It's not hard to win, and the $250 is actually useful. I used it to buy The Art of Computer Programming volumes 1, 2 and 3.  :)

Hmm it is far from my place too, but I think I'll be able to go. We need to bring the invitation letter right? Still, the invitation letter is addressed to 'Student'... so I wonder how they will know who we are.

its vic uni.

let's hope they will know who we are... haha.
but that's not to worry, I don't think VU really cares who the winners are, at the end of the day, the winners would have enough merits behind them to actually win the PSC, so lol~!

Ahhh that was fun. I think I did pretty well. First question was easy. Second was also easy but my answer looked suspiciously complicated. For the racetrack question omg my head is so thick it took me ages to get the answer. Question four was relatively ok. The last one I rushed in like 5 mins lol.

1. 20
2.
3. 37.5m/s, 22.5m/s
4. 50
6. -4

lolol, i took the privelage to not show up. 6 hours wasted in travel is not worth it considering the prize is a scholarship I will not even consider accepting :P

I feel like I have done a good deed today, haha, I helped others by increasing the chances of them being awarded a place in VU :P
