Japanese SL?

Anyone here do Japanese SL? I thought it was a fair exam. Listening was shocking for me because the female voice was so hard to understand. Though reading comprehension wasn't too bad but sometimes I didn't read the question properly and had to start over again gah massive time wasting. Writing was fantastic 'cause there was a topic that I had only just done recently and was able to use a fair bit of the complex grammar my teacher goes on about. The first one was a gimme though...How'd you guys all go?

listening - horrible. guessed most of it
reading - ok. made up most of it though. but in part B, as long as you show some grammar, you'll get marks. of course it needs to be kinda related to the topic.
writing - they had really good topics. i did q.25 about persuading a Japanese friend to come along to a trip with us at the end of the year.

I'm going into yr 11 Japanese in 2008 its my Second Language and i love it. lol
Obviously didn't do the exam because im not doing yr 12 Jap lol... I do pretty well in japanese at the moment though so i'm hoping i can keep it up. lol.

We have just started passive form, and I think he plans to do transitive/intransitive verbs

causative form is something done to you that you don't like? i wouldn't say so.
it's more like something that someone else makes/lets happen
eg. the subject does something to something else.

先生が質問をたくさん聞かせてくれた。
the teacher let [someone] ask lots of questions.
お母さんは僕に野菜を全部食べさせた。
my mother made me eat all of the vegetables

passive is a little more difficult because we don't use passive form in English much.
passive describes that something is being done to the subject.

僕が皆に気もいと言われます。
i am told by everybody that i have bad vibes.

as you can see, 僕 is the subject, and something is being done to it.

formation of PASSIVE

negative masu form without masu + れる
eru/iru verbs require addition of ら before れる is added.
eg. 食べられる　歌われる　言われる　掃除される　やれる

formation of CAUSATIVE

negative masu form without masu + せる
eru/iru verbs require addition of さ before せる (eg. 食べる ->　食べさせる）
する changes to させる; 来る changes to 来(こ)させる
eg. 飲まれる 食われる　違われる　勉強させる

that's it.

I'm doing Japanese 3/4 next year...but we only had 3 people enrol to year 12 jap so they cancelled our class (we only got told yesterday ) so now we have to do it by correspondence, has anyone else here done jap 3/4 by correspondence?

yep its not that bad its 3 hours a week at a centre for south east melbourne areas the place should be Brentwood Secondary and ive heard from friends that they got pretty good teachers + you meet more people.
The other option you can refer to your school is merge you jap subject with another school which has both advantages and disadvatages.

wow. only three people? For the past 3 - 4 years at my school there've been two classes of Japanese SL for 3/4 and generally 2 - 3 for 1/2.
How many people in your year level?

I did 3/4 last year and came out with a 32, which I was happy with. I love scaling.. I'll probably end up with a 40 Are all of you doing it this year finding it enjoyable? easy/hard??

It's pretty hard. I'm failing everything and I spoke English during my speaking exam.
