Hey,

Just curious to see how many of you on VN completed this course (units 1 +2).
Wasn't very popular at my school in 2007, only 3 people enrolled, and only one passed. (Me!)
Kind of tough on the brain though  :o. Bit different to the typical year 10 coursework.

Anyone on here have plans to complete the CCNA or go onto further CISCO certifications?

And also, how many of you completed this couse, like me,then relised, ahh bugger, you can only get a max. of 2 10% increments. lol.

Looking forward to some of the replies, if any!

Nope, I figured that I should've just spent my time on studying to pass rather than entering the competition haha.

I kind of miss the course now... it was better than anything else I learnt in that year. And it's pretty cool to say that I completed a VCE subject in year 10 :D

yeah, i'm doing 3 and 4 this year its a lot easier than 1 and 2 imo, but since i started it in year 11  i'm doing the new course which is different, we had to know how to vlsm for the first lab exam  :o, compared to 3 and 4 my class has been finding it a lot simpler.

What topics did you guys cover, out of interest? My school didn't offer it but I would definitely have taken it if it were available.

first semester was basic general stuff, router config, learned about the OSI model, subnetting, vlsming etc. kind of went over a bunch or router related stuff
second semester was all routing and routers, learned more in depth about packet forwarding, path selection, routing protocols, mostly OSPF, and EIGRP.
third semester was on switching went through secruity, vlans, spanning tree stuff other general switching things.
fourth semester which i am currently doing is on WAN technology's so we've been learning about frame relay, ATM, PVCs, HDLC that kinda of thing.

really good course, can be extremely stressful at times but well worth it in my opinion.
