As you may or may not be aware, ATAR Notes regularly publishes articles online - entirely free. And that will again be the case this year, for both the VCE and the HSC. ;D
Awesome, right? Absolutely! But do you know what's even better? This year, we're taking requests.
Want an article about time management? Post here.
Want an article about exam techniques in 2U Maths or Maths Methods? Post here.
Want an article about dealing with SAC results? Post here.Essentially, it's up to you!
All you need to do is to post in this thread with your ideas. Because at the end of the day, we want to be the greatest help to the greatest number - and what better way to do that than to take requests? :D We can't guarantee that we'll cater for every single request, but if there are consistent themes - well, that tells us pretty nicely that we should be writing an article on that subject. :) So over to you, Class of 2017/18/beyond!--------------------------------------------

Hi Joseph,
I think articles on stuff like setting up a study timetable or study pattern would be useful because I have problems while studying like procrastination and articles like that may help me get into the habit of constantly studying and not procrastinating too much which bad especially if you're in yr 12
Hey hey! Ask and you shall receive, here are some articles of interest for you! ;D
Stages of Study - Efficiency over Time
Study Timetable Guide
Procrastination Pit Falls and How to Avoid Them!

Tips to use Ti-nspire efficiently + cool tricks on it pls!!
I would love resources to deal with 3/4 Ancient History VCE, the few I can find are for the HSC. Also resources with the new 3/4 VCE Bio design. :)

How to get a 40+ in English
I'm interested in how to take effective notes and advice tailored for specific subjects. E.g] I'm particularly interested in Physics, Economics and Legal regarding those matters.
Another idea is for how to manage external factors in life that can affect your VCE, such as sleeping habits, social life, setting goals, being in a personal relationship throughout the year and working jobs.
I'm really excited to see something like this come into play though!
How about how to get a 99+ ATAR with the especially with the subjects of EAL, Specialist Maths, Math Methods, Chemistry and Biology . Plus how to rank no. 1 at all times :)
Would be REALLY appreciated!!
1) How to write up an Analytical Commentary (in terms of the structure) for English Language. For instance, the basic TEEEL structure can be applied to section C; however, what structure works best for section B? If there could be like a sentence-by-sentence layout of an AC structure for both the 'metalanguage subsystem' body paragraph method and the 'themes/concepts' body paragraph method, that would be soooooooo helpful ;D
2) Another one for English Language (which can be attached to the quotes forum): could there be a list of all the themes that fall under each Area of Study so that we can search for specific quotes - As a result, we can collate more quotes under more specific sub-branches for each AoS, because at the moment, I (and I assume others) feel that their quotes may not be entirely relevant. I guess these sub headings could be derived from the study design or commonly tested prompts...
Thanks in advance :)
Also for the CASIO Classpad please! It was my undoing for the Methods 1/2 exam last year and I got a horrible score because I didn't know how to work it (they don't teach us in class)
Please and thank you! :D :D
Hey, I want to become a pharmacist and to get into the course at Monash, I need an ATAR of 95 and over. I did Unit 3/4 Chemistry and Biology in Year 11 and totally blew it. I am doing English, Methods and Health and Human Development and Cert 3 In Christian Studies and I want to score over 45+ for all the subjects. May I please have some tips on how to achieve that goal? Also I want to be able to manage my class and home time better, any tips?
Thanks
Ansu
Hey,
Just wondering whether you guys could give us tips on how to go about answering application questions (like problem solving ones) for methods? Especially since the second exam is going to be basically all application questions?
Thank you :)
Hey,
How abt topic/area of study specific common mistakes and pitfalls to keep in mind. There was a really good one on Methods. If there were some for other subjects too - that'd be awesome.
Thanks
Any resouces on how to write a creative text resopnse, the book being studied is "I for Isobel" by Amy Witting
Hey BlinkieBill,
Firstly, your Methods post made me ridiculously happy, because it's so good! ;D Thank you so much for posting that. Actually, this might be really relevant for you, Alessia? :)
Great idea about the common mistakes! Were you looking for any subjects in particular? :)
It's great to have you on the forums! In fact, I'm going to thank you in this gratitude thread for writing that Methods post. ;D
Hey there
I would like to see articles on how to do well in unit 1 and 2?
Was wondering how to write effective responses for Revolutions (especially differences between 5 mark and 10 mark questions). I always get stuck with the differences between writing for english and history haha
Hey it'd be awesome for common mistakes in the chem, physics and maths subjects - Thanks. (Idk how to quote, hopefully i did it right :-\ )
Hey Atarnotes, love your work.
But I find most of your content is specifically targeted at either 'Year 11' or 'Year 12's' a lot and less (none that I've seen) for those accelerating into a 3/4 subject in Year 11?
I'm not sure how common this is across schools actually but at my school almost a majority do accelerate.
I'm sorta looking for tips for approaching my first ever 3/4 sacs, how much I should study for them and when to begin practice sacs for which sacs and how to begin exam study so early?
* Especially some tips to avoid common mistakes - as this will be the course I make mistakes preparing for even though it's probably the BIGGEST deal of a subject.
Thanks so much!
I'm looking for some general advice as well as a bit more specific, so like how to do well with methods?
A how to cope with the stresses of vce would be nice?

Notes on 'The Lieutenant' would be great!
Hey Joseph, I'm just looking for a general overview and tips on how to do well in psych, economics, methods, legal, business management and english language, especially since a lot of these have new study designs this year or next year.
Tips to use Ti-nspire efficiently + cool tricks on it pls!!
Hey, I would love to have some resources on Ancient History for the VCE study design.
Would really appreciate it! Cheers
Hi,
It would be awesome if there were more notes for Software Design and Development HSC course!!!
I'd love one on how to deal with apathy towards study. I don't know if this is common or if it's just me, but when I have a mountain of work in front of me to do, I just think to myself, 'stuff this, I could be watching YouTube now'. And then I go and waste my time and that doesn't help all the homework I still have to do. Most of the time my attitude towards homework is 'meh' and I wish I could treat it more seriously and give it the attention it deserves. My marks are pretty bad too and I feel like I'm stuck and can't improve them no matter how hard I try. This apathetic attitude isn't helping! :-\
Seriously the most amazing threads I've ever read!
I don't believe you.
Hey Joseph,It's not a complete overview, but this post by EulerFan101 is a very detailed summary of the 'all-new' content in probability and statistics. Worth a read. :)
How about just a breakdown of some of the newer study designs (like English, Chemistry, and if possible even methods and specialist maths)?
THanks :)

Anything on managing stress? Or extension 2 English?
Thank you so much,
Mary
Hey Mary! There's this article on Staying Calm in Exams, but an article on dealing with stress is actually a fantastic idea! Thanks for the suggestion ;D
What sort of stuff would you like to see for EX2? :)
Hello,
May I please have an article on how to do well in Math Methods? Specifically featuring the different types of graphs and the unit circle and calculation regarding that?
Thanks
Hey guys, not sure if you already have an article similar to this, but I'd love to read one about early entry/SRC/anything that would be useful to know about applying early to uni courses :)
Thanks!

I really struggle with organising my study schedule. It would great if you could upload articles on how to manage time effectively and provide more study tips.
An article on early entry to uni would be awesome, if anyone has had any experience with it! :D
The articles have been amazing thus far. Would it be possible to do an article on the importance of goal setting and being able to focus on your own (ie. not comparing yourself to the results of others)? :)

Excitingly, there are several in the works being written by forum members. :D

Such as:
-How do taxes work/doing taxes
-Job seeking/resumes/interview tips
-Smart money management
-How to buy a house
School only teach you the resume part. :P

Ya, great call. :)
Until that time, here's something written by the ever-brilliant literally lauren. :)
Hey Joseph,
I am doing Biology 3/4 this year, and have my exam in 12 weeks.
I don't know how to study though, and when I try its not effective.
So could I please have some tips of studying more effectively, and maybe even some tips on studying for biology??
Thank you!!
I'm in too (:
I would love to see an article on dealing with stress anxiety and negativityWould a post suffice instead?
I'd like to see some more stuff regarding Society and Culture (HSC) not necessarily the PIP as it is a very vague subject and so can be hard to work out what you're doing sometimes.
Also something on stress management and stuff (if there is some, can someone tell me where?)
Thanks for the suggestions! What sort of stuff would you need help with besides the PIP? :)I just find SAC to be the most vague subject and i struggle with that sometimes. I suppose some tips for understanding the vague content and how to interprit it. Maybe some exam tips as well?

I'm sure someone like @beatroot knows what talking about!
Sorry, if that doesn't help enough!
Definatly looking foward to that article on stress management though!!
did somebody say my name? ;)I agree, maybe looking at the other depth studies? Because everyone is already finishing continuity and change (the core topic). Definitely looking foward to writing more sac guides!!
The core topic would be a good start for me (or any SAC student) to have a guide on. Then slowly progress onto exam tips and a possible refresher of the preliminary content (this always pops up in the exam)
What do you think? @Adam @Jamon
My suggestions for an article is 'Balance: Life, work, health' or something specialised, like 'English Module A: How -to' or 'The only techniques you will ever need in math/(insert subject)'
can i please request an article regarding the UMAT !! and whether or not people shld do it : )) TY
Procrastination...
How to avoid, but more on how to make up time thereafter...
Hi!
I'd love some tips and tricks on how to use the CAS calculator and also generally how to achieve a really good score in english and chemistry.
Thanks! :)
Some tips on how to write a really good chemistry report please!!https://atarnotes.com/forum/index.php?topic=164492.0
Thank you so much everybody for your suggestions! I've been taking notes. ;)Joseph, you're honesty a god. This thread is just the sort of thing i was thinking about for a basis for upgrading the search options for the articles section. I never knew this existed!
Until then, we now have a complete database of existing ATAR Notes articles, which you're more than welcome to browse through!
But keep the suggestions coming, because these are seriously great. ;D

I've bookmarked it cause this is honestly something I've been looking for for AGES
Thankyou!!
Hello! :)yes i know what you mean...no one seems to do financial services because there is no notes for it. The final exams are really important because no other assessment tasks and classwork contribute towards the atar!! ??? ::) :o
I'd love to read an article from someone who received a really good score in VCE Food Studies! (less popular subjects like this don't get much attention!! :()
Also, an article from someone who got a 50 in VCE Legal Studies!! (This will be really really useful!!)
Thanks so much! :)
I would love an article on managing anxiety/panic attacks during sacs and examsHey there. Not sure what articles there are already, but this is something probably best discussed with a school counsellor, GP or other health professional. There's a number of techniques and they can help you find stuff that's useful for you.

What about some time-specific articles such as 'How to make the most of the September holidays before exams' or something similar?
I'm always interested to see how other people use their time :) Or maybe something to do with keeping motivated when others around you aren't studying? I'm the last in my family to finish high school, so here I am trying to memorise quotes while they never have to think about essay writing ever again :')
An article on getting through the final week/ days before an exam would be much appreciated.
Hello,
I was wondering if you could post an article on the following please:
1. How to use summer holidays effectively for year 12 prep
2.how to study smarter and not harder( i still can not figure this out lol)
3.How to keep sane in year twelve when everyone around you is getting competitive
Thanks a lot
Would love an article on smart studying and different techniques !!Hey Jade,
An article about dealing with maths anxiety would be very much appreciated!
I would love to write an article, how do I submit or apply to do so?
(it would be embarrassing for me if it states clearly how to and I have missed it lol )
Thanks
