Hi,
this is the book im using for yr 12 psych this year. is it any good?
also does anyone know where i can get the multiple choice answers for this from?

I personally haven't used it, so I can't say if it's good or not. Hopefully your teacher will be able to supply you with additional information that isn't in that book (I was told many times that no VCE psychology textbook is 100% comprehensive), if not there are lots of free online resources or you can buy a study guide.

I can't seem to find the answers online, but if your textbook came with a CD it could be on there. If not, your teacher should have them. You can also post questions on here which we can try to answer.

What does 'action potential' mean in terms of neuron functioning?

Are you doing year 12 psych? If so, 'action potential' isn't really a term you need to know, although it is important for year 11. Anyway, this site: http://faculty.washington.edu/chudler/ap.html gives a pretty good overview of neurons/action potential.

yeah im doing yr 12 psych.
its the first question of the chapter of the brain in my text book.
theres also a couple of other questions relationg to action potential.
so knowing action potential isnt need for yr 12 psych

i used that book for psych, i thought it was pretty good. the teacher has a "teachers guide" with all the answers, so just ask him/her.

so knowing action potential isnt need for yr 12 psych
In year 12 psych, you could get away with not even knowing what a neuron is, so there is definitely no knowledge required on action potential. Action potential was a Unit 2/Area of Study one term.
I would definitely recommend "Psychology for the VCE student by Grivas, Carter & Down".
I actually purchased the Heinemann book as a companion text book to my Grivas book. The Grivas text was definitely a better text in terms of its ability to explain the key concepts in a relatively straight forward fashion.

Grivas is the chief Examiner, so his book would probably be outright best to study.

Oh i feel sorry for you lol...I had that book last year lol... not the greatest book... oh and to get the answers to the MC questions, just ask your teacher, the answers are in the teachers guide textbook (or whatever its called). I'd probably advise you to get hold of another textbook as some things are left out..

ive got psych notes 3 and 4
plus my teacher uses the leading edge guide as well, and is giving us handouts. somone at my school last year got a study score of 47 for psych using the heinemann text book!
