Monash: 195 overall (will probably decrease for this year)
I got 187

193 overall... So close and yet so far :(
WHY YOU NO HAS LATROBE DENT ON THERE
oh I guess cause of all the deferred kids its impossible to get in right?? Still gotta put it up there though
Not everyone took the offer so there will be around 5-10 spots for metro kids I think (this includes metro sydney, adelaide, brisbane etc)WHY YOU NO HAS LATROBE DENT ON THERE
oh I guess cause of all the deferred kids its impossible to get in right?? Still gotta put it up there though
Added haha, I wasn't sure how Latrobe was going to work with the ATAR cut, just put it as "high" haha
Unlikely, but possible if you manage to get a scholarship.
I got 61-60-91 with total 212 (71 overall) and 99th percentile.
Could anyone comment on what my chances are for Adelaide and Flinders medicine?
My ATAR from last year was 99.70
I don't really feel like going interstate, but I'm still applying for Monash and the likes.
I thought LaTrobe was only offering to rural kids due to the stuff up....Well not everyone took the defer offer. And they even accepted some of the students who were meant to defer in the end. So there may be a chance, as I said, I reckon 5-10 places for Metro kids
And what about Griffith Uni med and Dent, they don't require UMAT do they?
I got 61-60-91 with total 212 (71 overall) and 99th percentile.

LOL you're set.
So I shouldn't really be worried at all?
Would you say I'm basically guaranteed a spot at Flinders (considering they don't use interviews)?
Oh I don't care about metro kids since I'm rural but how many places are they offering altogether anyway?I thought LaTrobe was only offering to rural kids due to the stuff up....Well not everyone took the defer offer. With a UMAT 95th percentile, is an interview offer from Monash likely?
If then I have an alright interview and an ATAR in the 99s, how likely is an offer for MBBS?
Thanks!
Does anyone know why JCU has 2 interview rounds? Is one for interstate and one for local? How does it work?
Does anyone know why JCU has 2 interview rounds? Is one for interstate and one for local? How does it work?
When is the second round you are referring to?
As far as I know, there is one round pre-ATAR and another round post-ATAR. Both have locals and interstaters.

Hey physics, just wondering, with the post-ATAR path, is there still like a "minimum" UMAT score they need? Would you mind letting me know how you did just so that I can gage whether or not I have a chance?
What sort of ATAR is generally required for a place in JCU?
I got in post-ATAR with 99.35, but I have a mate who got in with 97.xx too (also post-ATAR). Generally you'd want 99+ though.
Ahh I see. What about Monash atar-stream?? Is there still a minimum UMAT score needed for that anyone know?Hey physics, just wondering, with the post-ATAR path, is there still like a "minimum" UMAT score they need? JCU doesn't use the UMAT at all! :D They don't look at it or care if you have/haven't done it :)
Just your ATAR + application for an interview.
Ahh I see. What about Monash atar-stream?? Is there still a minimum UMAT score needed for that anyone know?
Does anyone know the percentile cut off for UQ?
wow nice, so you are saying that all i have to do is get above 97 atar to get into dent for JCU??
Yeah I think it's still around
http://www.uq.edu.au/study/?page=89468
When in doubt, send them an email though :)
188 announced cut-off for UQ 2013
their website? duh :D

** Not all applicants with this UMAT score received an offer. Applicants were required to have a Section 1 score of 76.
188 announced cut-off for UQ 2013
Cue the nerves :P
uws seems comparatively easy
is there a catch or something?
hey guys,
for UA dent, do you know if its average 83%ile or the lowest cutoff is 83%ile :S
Hey guuuuyss, is 83%ile enough for medicine at monash, assuming I get 99.5+? Never really that interested in med (like, at all) but just curious :D thanks guys! time to SMASH MY ATAR haha :D
My friend got offered a bonded place with 83rd percentile and 99.85. Still possible!
Does a <50 score for one section remove any chance at Monash?
Hmmmm... I got
S1: 57
S2: 62
S3: 62
Overall: 181
%ile: 91
Am I right in saying that this is too low for a place anywhere?
Where do I have a good shot of getting an interview for medicine?
I Got 68;58;60 => 186 in total => 94th percentile
Which uni do I have the best chance at getting an interview?
I completely failed the umat. got 85%ile,
looking at dentistry at adelaide uni. If I get around 99.6, is there still a chance?
My other option seems to be Bond. Likewise, do I have a chance?
Hey guys,
I got the following:
S1 59
S2 58
S3 62
Overall: 179, 89%
I'm really devastated and my parents are disappointed as, because it's bye-bye to UQ med for me. Do you guys think I stand a chance anywhere else? I'm willing to go anywhere, and I'll do BMP if necessary. Thank you!!! ;)
Hi guys,
I got 92% percentile - will I need an ATAR of at least 99 to get a look in at Monash?
95 ile ! Parents were over the moon!
but we're moving to Perth next year ( cause my dad has changed his workplace!) . So no monash for me! :( We'll see what happens!
So happy but . I wasn't expecting that high ! I shall buy myself a 30 cent cone from Maccers today :)
What do you guys think are the chances of getting into med with:
91percentile
181 raw score
section one 54
section two 67
section three 60
and atar estimate 99.85
I really hoped to get into JMP or Monash but I guess that's impossible with such a bad section 1 score :(
SpoilerWow back in my day 186 was 91%ile or so haha (claiming that class of 2011 is superior here).
Thanks ! ( thank you section zero as well , great questions! )
Haha we'll see what happens! :)
I'm not planning to do med anyway , I'm not very interested. So I put Pharmacy / Commerce as my first preference for vtac . Medicine is probably going to be a backup!
I shall buy myself a 30 cent cone from Maccers today :)Really splurging aren't you? :P
For first round offers they made them before ATAR results were even out, so it was 1:0 for UMAT:ATAR.
Really splurging aren't you? :P
I might have missed it, but okay so I hear now the weighting between ATAR & UMAT to receive an interview offer, is 50:50. What was the weighting in the past? (source please if possible :D)
I'm not putting UQ med cos my UMAT's not enough, however I still need to get rid of one preference. Which one should I get rid of?? Thanks so much! :)
What ATAR do I need for Monash med with 92%ile?
Well I got 92%ile (albeit a higher raw total score) and got 99.35. So aim higher than that?
So what are my chances with an ATAR of 98?
So what are my chances with an ATAR of 98?
@pi: I am expecting you to change your username to interviewpi later this year. :P
So I got 62:50:72; 184 overall, 93rd percentile. My ATAR was 98.1, do I have any chance :S I'm applying everywhere but Bond.

i got 99%tile for umat (section scores 68, 72, 62). What are my chances if i get a 97-98 atar?
Oh wow are UQ having interviews again?
i got 99%tile for umat (section scores 68, 72, 62). What are my chances if i get a 97-98 atar?
Oh wait, damn sorry the interview part is referring to UA dent I saw my notes wrongly :P
However, the two other criteria I stated are legit, sorry :P
I saw my notes wronglyWow you got notes. Last year I just applied all without looking at their requirements. I only knew they need interview when I got an interview offer email (Not the case for Monash, someone told me in year 11 already about their requirements :P)
i got 51%ile. should i even continue to try for medicine?
JCU doesn't use UMAT, so any UMAT score will be fine for JCU :P Go for it! :)Haha I know that! I meant is my UMAT so pathetic that JCU is the only option?
Haha I know that! I meant is my UMAT so pathetic that JCU is the only option?
Well I wouldn't call any UMAT "pathetic", but JCU is probably your best chance unless you're aiming for around 99.7+ whereby Griffith comes into play :)I'm going to do my best, but I won't get 99.7!!
i notice that adelaide gives out actual places based on umat and interview (both equally weighted). does that mean if my umat is mediocre, I dont have much of a chance even if i do well on the interview? (dentistry)If i remember it right, UOA will divide candidates into several quartile groups (i think it is 4) according to their interview result and then rank you using your umat. Say there are 400 kids who did the interview. The first quartile group (1-80 candidates), who did amazingly well in their interview, will definitely get a place no matter how low their umat was (of course it will still be above the cut off). The next quartile group (81-160) are slightly different because not all of them will end up getting in. So if you are in this second group, you will be ranked according to your UMAT result. If you are the highest in this group, you will be the 81st candidate and you will be in. UOA gives offers to student up to around 105+/-5 (depends on how many people reject their offers).
so does that mean, given I only got 85%ile, if I do well on the interview I still have a chance? (I'm the very first interview they will be doing)If they still use this system, then the answer is yes. But you need to be in the top group (top 75ish students) in the interview. I know this may sound a bit scary, but good luck and hope you can get in :)
so does that mean, given I only got 85%ile, if I do well on the interview I still have a chance? (I'm the very first interview they will be doing)Dude, I'm fairly sure 85%ile is enough for dent at UoA. I go to UoA and know plenty of people who've gotten into dent with ~85%ile.

If it helps anyone (probably only applicable for rural kids), I've got an offer from Newcastle and UNSW with a UMAT of 81%. Saying that, I think my "rural score" according to NSW is pretty high.
:-\ ...has anyone received an offer for JCU dent yet :OOO
cheers bro!
I got a JCU med interview offer. But I'm majorly torn :'( Like sure I'll do the interview and all and medicine is my dream (the usual) but 6 years, so far away... and the weather is SO hot! I'll really have to weigh this up if I do get a place offered.
JCU interview offers come out between 18th to 24th of November for 1st round interviews.
there are second round interview offers as well, so if you get a gun ATAR (which you might, considering your methods ss), you may still get offered a place at JCU. dont fret :)
Would you consider 98 to be a 'gun ATAR' for JCU Med?

just a question, with a 99 umat, whats the minimum atar i need to get a spot at UQ? kinda worried cos i reckon i didnt do very well for examsYou need to get OP1 (99 ATAR), but you can get bonus points (maximum 2 points for doing LOTE in VCE, maximum 2 points for doing specialist maths in VCE and maximum 1 point for doing university enhancement subject). So if you do a LOTE and specialist maths, you can get 95 ATAR :)

What do you mean maximum 2 points?Say maximum 2 points for doing LOTE. If you do one LOTE subject, you will get 2 points. If you do more than one, you will still get 2 points only because that's the maximum they will give to you.
Sorry if this has already been answered or there's information about it, but with a 97%ile UMAT and an ATAR of 98.50-99.00, is it likely for me to get a med interview at monash?
Thanks. :)
so i suppose 99.80 and 75%ile is highly unlikely?Don't give up your hope just yet, but I would say highly unlikely.
I was just wondering how the scholarships work at Monash. I got an ATAR of 99.70 and a UMAT of 98 percentile so do you think there is any chance of receiving a scholarship of some sort, granted I interview well and get offered a place in their MBBS course.
Does anyone know if interstate unis give preference to their locals?
Hi guys, I was just wondering if the University of Queensland still overs undergraduate medicine in 2015. I can't seem to find the course!I had a look at the QTAC Course Search and I can't seem to find it as well... I think maybe they're not offering it any more (possible explanation)?
Unlikely I would think :P I know someone in exactly the same position as you: 99.95 and 68%ile but didn't get into monash. But that was in 2012, don't take my word for it. Wait for Pi or something.
And congrats on your score.
If you classify for the Dean's Rural List, then probably. Either way, as long as your UMAT is above the 50-50-50 threshold for each section, Monash tends to like their 99.95s so I wouldn't be surprised if you got an interview as a metro student. It's a close call in my opinion.
Thanks for your input, it gives me hope :) Although even if I do receive an offer with such a low UMAT I would have to ace the interview which I have not prepared for.You will be right mate, nothing a 99.95er can't handle ;) All the best though!
Hey guys! Just wondering how competitive a 96 ATAR and 97th percentile UMAT is when applying under the Monash guarantee for their undergrad MBBS program?
Thanks! :)
hey guys just in a hypothetical situation:
is a low 90s ATAR (90-95) too low for all med schools? ((anywhere but Bond))
(and with the monash guarantee)
Are you rural? If not, I'd be very doubtful of those scores getting a place.
I got 67/71/59 (overall 196) and 98th percentile in the UMAT. I'm currently look at an ATAR of low to mid 99s (probably somewhere from 99.20-99.60). Given that I have a decent interview, any ideas as to how good a shot I have at Monash med?
What are the chances for Monash Med with a 99 umat (204 overall) and lower atar? Maybe around 97 atar?...Absolutely no chance ;) ! Scroll up and read the previous ones.

You'd definitely get an interview and provided you were to do well on the interview you'd have a good shot at it. 97 is definitely on the low end for med though, you probably want to aim for at least 99Thank you!! Not sure I can get that high for atar but fingers crossed :) :)
You have a decent chance of getting in haha. Just need to maintain or increase that ATAR. One month to go. No point worrying about whether or not there's a chance, and probably more useful putting effort into increasing ATAR as much as possible. Lol Best of luck :)
Hahah I did read it! Only the other person who asked with the UMAT score was applying to UQ which gives bonus points I think, whereas Monash doesn't :)
Thank you!! Not sure I can get that high for atar but fingers crossed :) :)

For those applying JCU, applications are due sooooon! Very worth applying, especially if you feel the UMAT didn't go amazingly (although time will tell ;)). One of the admins at medstudentsonline (where I'm a mod too) posted a good guide recently that's worth checking out :) http://medstudentsonline.com.au/forum/threads/jcu-written-application-discussion-2017.32566/The section where it has referees - has that been removed from the application? Does that go under "Provide any other information to support your application"?

Had a cursory look at the form, looks like you just attach them. Snippet below is from pg 12. https://www.jcu.edu.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0006/272769/2017_Application-Form-Top4.pdfThanks a lot - didn't actually see that section so thank you a lot for pointing it out <3

Thank you, pi!
And I know this may be a trite question, but to have a competitive application at JCU Med is the ATAR threshold definitely above 99?
I have a friend who got in (same year I applied - so was a while back) with an ATAR of 97.xx and no rural experiences, so not a hard and fast rule! :)
Still, 92nd percentile is better than what I expected.Congratulations! That's a great score!! Hope that gets you into wherever you want to go!!
Hey, am wondering: Would Monash undergrad still consider you if you got any section below 50 regardless of percentile scores?hey hey, unfortunately based off previous years, although it is never explicitly stated, Monash does take the 50-50-50 rule quite seriously and in this case, it'd be unlikely they would offer an interview if any section is below 50.
Hey guys, I got a UMAT percentile of 84, with all sections above 50. (S1 - 57, S2 - 57, S3 - 60). I was wondering what are my chances for monash? From my predictions it seems like I'll be getting a good atar (hopefully above 98.5 or 99). Also, what are my chances for other unis like UQ? Is it possible for me to get into those in a bonded place, with second round offers? Thanks for the help.hey hey congrats on your score!
Ah great! Thanks for the advice. What ATAR should I likely be aiming for? 97+?With an 84 %ile UMAT, I would definitely be aiming for a 99ish ATAR. Monash Med is extremely competitive and you want all the leverage you can get.
Congratulations! That's a great score!! Hope that gets you into wherever you want to go!!

Cmon Mtse, remember that poor 99.95 friend of ours who got <50 in one section and didn't get into Monash? :PHAHAHA exactly my point! xD poor guy :')
HAHAHA exactly my point! xD poor guy :')
Well at least for 2016 entry, 50-50-50 rule was still there.
For 2017 entry, there is apparently some doubt as to whether the rule is still in play .... but i haven't heard anything...so probs assume it still exists
When I was at the Monash Open Day I was informed that the 50-50-50 rule still existed.lol I was one of the student ambassadors at Open Day - and yeah it was a general understanding that the 50-50-50 still exists
Hello :)hey hey :)
just wondering if you think there's a chance at Monash Med with a 72%ile UMAT which is a total score of 164 (48,57,59) <- do you know if the 50 cutoff exists for monash guarantee/seas kids? + 99 atar? (99 is seas scaled from 97)
Hey do any of you know about the Bachelor od Philosophy/Doctor od Medicine course at ANU. Is that still a thing??? and if so where do you find info about it???
95 UMAT, expected ATAR of 98+ and possibly 99 (my school won't tell us our predicted scores). Chances?
Man, yesterday was a wreck. Take care everyone.
if you get an interview, what are we actually meant to say??? like do we need to bring awards and stuff ?
95 UMAT, expected ATAR of 98+ and possibly 99 (my school won't tell us our predicted scores). Chances?I'd say you have very high chance of getting an interview with 95umat/99atar. Provided you do decently in your interview, a spot in the new MD course at Monash could very likely be yours! :) congrats on a great score

if you get an interview, what are we actually meant to say??? like do we need to bring awards and stuff ?Deuce answered this pretty well, but I do suggest having a look around online for some general interview tips.
I was wondering, one of my friends got an 58% percentile, another 62% percentile and lastly a 65% percentile. They are all expected to get 95 plus in their ATAR and are hoping to get into Adelaide Uni (Note: they are all South Australian and non-rural). Is there still a chance for any of them to get in, all are willing to bond themselves.Disclaimer: I am not from SA so please take what i say with a grain of salt
Ita weird because the UMAT only makes up 20% whereas the interview and ATAR are 40% each!

Anyone know the ATAR cut off requirement for griffith uni from last year? Nathan campus?
hey does any know if adelaide considers the 50-50-50 rule?
I have an 89 umat score but 48 in S1
Section 1 was brutal
Anyone know the ATAR cut off requirement for griffith uni from last year? Nathan campus?I believe it was 99.80. Some with 99.75 managed to get a place.
Section 1 was brutalI did worse at section 3
hey hey, unfortunately based off previous years, although it is never explicitly stated, Monash does take the 50-50-50 rule quite seriously and in this case, it'd be unlikely they would offer an interview if any section is below 50.
Thank you for the reply. :)
Would there be any chances of getting into Med anywhere else in Aus, apart from JCU (looking into it!), with a 79%ile (S1:60, S2:61, S3:48)? And if so what ATAR would make a competitive application?
Thanks again!
Hi !
I was just wondering if I had a chance with med/dent courses (for all states) with a 91 percentile and a 97+ atar?
Thanks :) :)
Hey everyone! sorry i was just wondering whether a umat percentile of 87 (55 59 62) and an atar estimate of 99 is eligible for interviews at UNSW and monash? im getting mixed responses from friends haha!
should i still apply for med?
thank you!!!
Do you think I have a chance at a UNSW interview (or anywhere else really) with UMAT 88%ile (52, 57, 68), GPA 7.0 and ATAR 99.5? :)
Do you think I have a chance at a UNSW interview (or anywhere else really) with UMAT 88%ile (52, 57, 68), GPA 7.0 and ATAR 99.5? :)
There are people in my cohort that have low 99 ATAR and 78 UMAT. your scores are plenty enough for Monash at least. As for UNSW I cannot really say as I didn't apply there. Those scores are good enough for everywhere except Adelaide and UTAS. They require 99+ UMAT for interstate applicants... Lol RIPThe people from your cohort, are they interstate? Maybe the requirements for monash are higher for interstate :/

Based off what I've seen on MSO, your high GPA and ATAR with your decent UMAT will very likely get you an interview at UNSW. Whilst there is no chance at Monash (as I've said before) or Adelaide as they only accept school-leavers.
Is non-bonded at Monash likely for me with: umat 96 (71,53,66) and an atar 98+?You'll have a good chance of getting an interview, and depending on your interview you may be able to get non-bonded. With a 99+ ATAR the chances will be much higher. (i do know people who bombed their interview with 99+ atar and >90 umat and missed out on a place entirely)
Needing help :) I am just completing Yr 12. What are my chances of doing Med with a UMAT of (63, 53, 54) 171 and 81 percentile. I have a predicted 99.05 ATAR and would prefer to study in WA but I am going to apply interstate too. Any advice would be most welcome. Thanks :)hey hey :) your scores are leaning on the edge a little --> WA has very limited number of spots in med, so your umat may not cut it. if you do get an interview, you probably will have to ace that to get in.
The people from your cohort, are they interstate? Maybe the requirements for monash are higher for interstate :/I'm in the same cohort as HughMungus. Some of them are interstate and some are Victorians. The requirements are pretty similar for interstate kids and for those with a relatively lower UMAT, they must have aced the interview and may have also not been in the first round.
Hi everyone, will I get an interview offer for JCU med or Bond med with an atar of 97-98?
Many thanks
Karen
I'm going for UNSW UG med.UMAT = good (congrats on a great score!!)
I have a 184 in UMAT (93%ile) and a predicted ATAR 95-97, what are my chances???
UNSW UG med is very competitive and although they say the minimum ATAR is 96, the median ATAR of the cohort is normally around a high 98.
I've heard their median ATAR for metro applicants is actually closer to 99.6 hahaha, higher than Monash these daysholy sh*t...
Not sure if I'm posting in the right spot, so please move this to another thread if my question isn't relevant. :)clearly-in is the minimum required ATAR to get into the course
What's the difference between "median ATAR" and "clearly-in ATAR"? Does clearly-in mean the lowest ATAR for a course?

Clearly in ATAR is what it says on the tin pretty much
Median ATAR is not an official VTAC thing. It is just the ATAR above which 50% of the cohort lies. The median ATAR for Med @Monash this year was 99.30 for example. So you can expect to find around half of the people quoting an ATAR at or above this threshold. For UNIs that do not give a clear clearly in ATAR (Monash Med for example) this is a good estimate of what you would want to be clearly in because despite the quoted '90 Minimum ATAR' the lowest ATAR of our COHORT is actually ~93 with heavy SEAS. Just to keep your options realistic as mtse said :D
Does this mean that with an atar of 98+ med at monash is unlikely? As I answered here: Re: The "Will I get an interview/offer with this UMAT?" query for med and dent, a low/mid 98 ATAR is less likely. A high 98/99+ ATAR will give you a much higher chance of getting an interview and spot in the course at Monash.
I have a UMAT score of 177 (65, 55, 57) which is 87 percentile. What are my chances of a BMP at UQ? My OP is predicted for a 1.
What atar should I aim for if I got a 91 UMAT (S1:63 S2:50 S3:68) for Monash and Adelaide uni?For Monash:
Probably 99.95, and even that's not going to be super competitive.
So would you say it is virtually impossible to obtain a place in the program with my UMAT and without an ATAR of 99.95?
Well 99.90 and 99.95 open doors, so you could get a place :P I just wouldn't think your combination of scores would necessarily be above median, which is what I assumed you meant by 'competitive'. Have hope! :)
Hi there.Hey there (welcome to atarnotes ;D )
Umat 185 93rd %ile (73/57/54) and Atar 99.0 - any chance of interviews for JMP, UNSW, UWS of Monash?
Hi there.
Umat 185 93rd %ile (73/57/54) and Atar 99.0 - any chance of interviews for JMP, UNSW, UWS of Monash?
😄
ATAR and UMAT for UTAS Med?
Am interstate and non-rural
Would 99.55 and 96% be enough?
Hello!
UMAT results for 2017 just came out. What are my prospects of getting an interview for Monash, UNSW, Adelaide? Also applied to every other uni in Australia, haha.
UMAT 84%ile
Estimated 99+ ATAR (~99.4-99.75)
I also have SEAS for passing away of family member.
I got a 96 percentile in the UMAT this year and have a predicted ATAR of 98+. Are my chances for getting an interview at UNSW good? Thank you!
Hey all!
So for umat I got 92nd percentile
(55,55,73) total of 182.
Was wondering what my chances for Monash are with an ATAR of 98 or high 98s/low 99s.
I have seas too!
Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks :)
hey guys what are my chances for interview at monash, UNSW, UTas and any other uni offering undergrad med? and chances for UQ dent? Thanks :)
UMAT: 91st percentile (180 overall)
ATAR: 98.5-99.5 most likely
Applying for SEAS under 2 categories (no Monash guarantee)
Hey guys, I was just wondering what UMAT score would be competitive for an interview at Monash with an ATAR around 96-98, applying with SEAS (disadvantaged financial background + low socioeconomic area).
Hi,quite possibly an interview with monash (possibility of a place), just keep trying to push that atar up to improve your chances :)
S1: 61
S2: 56
S3: 70
Overall: 187, 95th percentile
With an Atar of 98+, what are my chances for getting into Monash, (or UNSW, UoN, Adelaide if anyone knows)?
Thanks in advance.
Do you know if some unis just have a level playing field once people get to the interview stage? As opposed to UNSW's 1/3 weighting?
Hey, my UMAT was 94%ile, with 70, 51 and 64 in each section respectively. If I get an atar of 98-99 what would my chances be for Monash, Adelaide, UNSW, uws, jmp and utas? I’m from Melbourne so no location benefits unfortunately (unless I’m incorrect and Monash do favour local applicants but pretty sure not)
Hi, I got,
S1: 64
S2: 65
S3: 56
Overall 185
Percentile 94%
What atar do I need for monash. I have applied interstate too.

Hey guys
Im very confused as to how everyone knows how to calculate their scores. Do I just add the percentage together??Somebody please help figure it out. Also what score should i aim for to get a chance to be considered for say at UNSW???
I did an acer practice test and this is what i got;
Logic and Reasoning : 17/48 ( ik its extremely low) ---percentage 35
Understanding people: 41/44 ( i think this is good) --percentage 93
Non- verbal reasonning: 20/41 ( low again ) ---percentage 49
Total or overall : 35+93+49=177
Correct?
Also how do you calculate percentiles???
Thanksss
You can not calculate percentiles as those are dependent on how other people do on the exam. For example, if section one was very very tough your 17/48 may actually be considered a ‘good’ score and you could receive a high percentile if everyone else does terribly. It really just comes down to those around you. Also, the way ACER calculates your UMAT overall is very tight lipped.
I’ve heard however, that a 180/300 is roughly a 90th percentile while a 200/300 is a 100th percentile. ^this may not be accurate.
Thanks! So the higher the percentile, the better the chances??Of course!
Hi, I wonder if anyone could give me a prediction?
UMAT
S1 65
S2 55
S3 51
Total 171
%ile 81
Expected ATAR: 97-99
SEAS in 4 categories, and rural.
Do I have a chance for Monash Extended Rural Cohort or any interstate unis?
Thank you!!
Hello I was wondering what are my chances (if any) of getting into medicine. Here are my scores:((
S1: 41, S2: 43, S3: 49, total: 133, %ile: 24
SEAS for 3 categories
Expected ATAR: 98-99
Thank you!
Can we get into the extended rural cohort only nd only if we are rural? How rural do we need to be?No you don't need to be rural to apply for the ERC, but you do need to be rural to apply for the Dean's Rural List to enter Monash medicine (if you're non-rural, don't worry about it)
Hi guys, I am new here and I was devastated as I thought I was doing very well in S3 - which then could bump up the %ile - but I only got 58 which was really out of my prediction
I got 74 % (165) all above 50, which uni should I apply for.
Do you think there is a chance if I submit for remark?
Thanks guys
Joan
Hey, guys,
Finally got used to my mark and the scolding I got from my dad :-\ , but I was hoping I still have a chance for some uni. I got a 84% (62/52/60) and am non rural. Which unis would be willing to accept me for if I got an ATAR in the low 99s? Thanks!
Thank you quantumm44! So would you recommend that I take medicine out of my preferences for monash because idk my careers counsellor said to never delete it but considering my low UMAT would I be better off replacing it with another course?
BTW how are you finding med in Adelaide?
I'm a WA school leaver and got UMAT scores of
S1: 55
S2: 60
S3 :61
which is 86 percentile
I've got a predicted ATAR of 99.80.
What are my chances for interview offers (for med) in Adelaide and over east? Thanks.

Hi there!
I got 97th percentile (60/56/78) and was wondering what sort of ATAR I would need to get into med at monash if my interview is average.
Thanks!!:)
Hi guys,
I am a VIC school leaver.
What are my chances for getting any offer to Monash, UNSW and Adelaide with:
Umat 95th %ile
ATAR (98.5-99.0)
Above average interview
Thanks in advance :)
You should have a good chance at Monash and Adelaide. You’ll need a very good interview to score a UNSW offer though.
Thank you!
Forgot to mention that I am applying for EAS on the grounds of both medical and difficult circumstances. Assuming my EAS is accepted, how does that impact my offer chances for UNSW?
So, is the system in NSW broken??I think Newcastle/JMP is based of section 1 score for interview invites, and I think this year's cut off was ~58 in section 1 for non-rural applicants. You can always try contacting the University's admission department by phone.
My daughter got 95 in the UMAT, her predicted ATAR is 99. She will be the DUX of her school. The ATARS aren’t even out yet but she’s already been rejected by University of Newcastle and also didn’t get an interview from western Sydney University. It’s rather disheartening that she is in the top 5% of all applicants to medicine and can’t even get an interview. Just wondering if there’s anything she can do? Is there any recourse or avenue of appeal to the rejection from these Uni’s ??
