Title: Regarding tutor advertisements and scores
Post by: Aaron on December 05, 2016, 09:05:00 pm
Dear all,

It is important when you are posting advertisements offering your services, that you are transparent and open with your potential students. This involves study scores and other results that you claim to have achieved.

Regarding ANY scores or grades posted:
You must state in writing whether the results included in your tutoring ad are raw scores (e.g. no manipulation), or scaled scores (e.g. manipulated due to scaling). This is a COMPULSORY requirement for all advertisements if there are grades or scores included.

This requirement is in effect as of 6.12.2016. Threads posted before this date will not be affected. Any future posts that do not include this requirement will be removed (moderator discretion whether warning/notification is given).

If you have any questions regarding this thread, please contact a national moderator. As usual, users may report threads that do not meet the requirements as stated and mods will take appropriate action.

I will add that while this requirement applies to VCE, it applies in principle to other states and their respective scoring systems. If you live in a state where you receive both raw and scaled results (or equivalent), you must specify which you provide. If you only receive one set of results as standard (as is the case in NSW), you need only provide those results.

Basically, if there would be any ambiguity as to which marks you have provided, you need to specify :)
