Hey,

I was just wondering if Australians can sit the Ireland HPAT (UMAT equivalent)?

Thanks!

Hey, so the HPAT registration website (https://hpat-ireland.acer.edu.au/register), says you need what's called a "CAO" number before applying to sit the HPAT.

The CAO is the "Central Applications Office" I.E. their VTAC/UAC. You can apply if you are an international student and the application form is here: https://www.cao.ie/apply.php

In fact, University College Dublin (which has a med faculty) explicitly writes on its website "Our strong international focus has developed over the past twenty-five years, with significant numbers of North American and South East Asian students enrolling within our medicine programmes." at this URL: http://www.ucd.ie/medicine/studywithus/internationalstudents/

One issue. You WILL need to travel to Ireland to sit the HPAT! The HPAT website says about its test centres: "HPAT – Ireland will be offered in Cork, Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Sligo and Waterford.

Additional test centres will not be established."

(source: https://hpat-ireland.acer.edu.au/register/test-centres)

Finally, you only have 10 days left to apply for this year's HPAT, so you're going to need to decide quickly. Best of luck!
