Hi, i'm considering moving interstate to go to ANU and I have some questions:
- How much do I have to do to meet Co-curricular or service requirement? I don't do much outside of school and the only thing that really applies to me is doing Australian Mathematics Competitions/UNSW ICAS test through school but I'm not sure if that even counts
- what is the cost of living like? is it cheaper than most cities?
- I can't really decide between law, economics or PPE so I want to do a double degree, hopefully in PPE and law but is this much different from an economics/law degree. And is there much benefit in doing it at ANU instead of UQ

Hey, fourth-year ANU student here :)
I can't help with the co-curricular/service requirement as it wasn't part of my admissions process, but on your other questions:
2) Rent and petrol is surprisingly expensive in Canberra, but otherwise I'd say the cost of living is on par with other capital cities. If you live in student accommodation you'll be likely to save on transport costs because you can just walk to uni, and maybe the sheer lack of expensive or otherwise entertainment venues will also save you money ahaha;;;
3) If you have a specific interest in economics I would definitely recommend going with economics/law. A lot of the people I know who started with a PPE double degree have transferred out of PPE because of the rigid course requirements and the lack of freedom with choosing electives. I think it would be much easier to go on exchange, take specialised electives etc if you just choose one field in the PPE combo and go with that, rather than trying to cover all three.
ANU is having a virtual Open Week later this month so I'd definitely encourage you to have a look at the information sessions for the courses you're interested in! Best of luck with everything :D
