UNSW’s CSESoc and WIT will be holding a joint Hackathon specifically designed for high school students! This Hackathon will run from 9am Thursday, 1 October to 5pm Friday, 2 October and be held online using IBM's platform Remo.co.

❓What is a Hackathon❓
A Hackathon is a competition where people come together to build and design something cool! You do not need any programming experience to do well!

🌟 Why you should join 🌟
This is a great way for all high school students (years 9-12) to learn new skills and create a product prototype + a business model. This Hackathon is a unique opportunity to gain an insight into the creative applications of STEM and show you a taste of what working in the tech field is like.
We have partnered with companies such as IBM, Blackbird VC, Creatable.tech and more to bring you the best quality hackathon specifically geared towards high school students. You’ll be able to participate in sponsor-led mentoring sessions as well as multiple workshops through the Hackathon to ensure that you have the skills needed to excel in your product creation and business model.

🏆 Prizes 🏆
Not only is this a great learning experience but you’ll also be in the running for lots of prizes! Prizes include:

---------- About UNSW Women In Technology Society ----------
Founded in 2016, UNSW Women In Technology (WIT) is a network of 2000+ students with similar interests and goals surrounding STEM, and has grown into a platform to support and encourage diversity within the technology industry. WIT is proud of its innovative and positive environment, whereby long term connections and friendships are made, helping to play a part in removing the gender imbalance that exists in the sector.
WIT intends to serve the dual purpose of empowering current students interested in technology, as well as encouraging high school students to pursue a future in technology. We hold many events on and off-campus throughout the year to assist with the transition into STEM by holding introductory courses, hackathons and case competitions.

------ About UNSW Computer Science & Engineering Society ------
CSESoc is the principal representative body for computing students at UNSW. We cater to 4000+ CSE students and are there to fulfill the specific social needs of those individuals. We also promote computing in all its forms through technical and non-technical oriented events throughout the year. We are here to make sure you are having a good time, no strings attached We like to have fun whether it be hanging out, working on interesting projects, or throwing parties. These activities can only happen if CSE students, such as yourself, help make it happen.
Volunteers run the entire society from the bottom to the top. We know that some of you tend to be interested in computing, so we try to cater to your interests by holding technical events that complement your studies. These events are to help teach you some extra computing skills and to keep you updated on what's new and interesting in the industry. CSESoc caters to all students of CSE including postgrads, and soon to be grads. This means that we try to hold some industry-specific events for the students that are going into the IT field. We try to make sure that you guys are aware and excited about starting work in the IT industry.
