Abortion is a highly personal decision that many women are sure they'll never have to think about until they're suddenly faced with an unexpected pregnancy. But this can happen to anyone, including women who are strongly anti-choice. So what does an anti-choice woman do when she experiences an unwanted pregnancy herself? Often, she will grin and bear it, so to speak, but frequently, she opts for the solution she would deny to other women -- abortion.

In the spring of 2000, I collected the following anecdotes directly from abortion doctors and other clinic staff in North America, Australia, and Europe. The stories are presented in the providers' own words, with minor editing for grammar, clarity, and brevity. Names have been omitted to protect privacy.

well yeh, I'd have thought there should be a point for a topic for it to be posted. Simply bringing to light to the fact that hypocrites exist is not really a point, I don't think.

Who put you in charge of determining the point that should or should not be made by a post? Given your previously stated position on religious matters, I'm given to believe that this is simply a defensive response to what you have perceived to be an attack on your beliefs... Otherwise, you would have posted a similar reply to the countless thousands of other posts that exist on this forum purely as spam - bereft of any point whatsoever.

Sigh okay:
- In the course of my daily procrastinating I came across an article which was an interesting read
- I thought I'd share it
- If I wanted to make some sort of political/moral/social statement I would've posted it in Politics or Debate and made some sort of comment
- If you don't like it don't read it, the title made the subject matter quite obvious

You're 100% right. I was not simply decrying this topic as spam.

Here in VCE English, we are taught to analyse the contention of the writer. Now what I was doing, was attempting to determine ninwas contention. What I believe it to be, is that anti-abortionists are hypocritical, and hence an attack on the morals of anti-abortionists. On the hand, it could simply be an expose on the general problem of hypocrisy.

I was simply trying to clarify this point, because that would determine my response to the actual topic.

Firstly real life aint nothin like VCE anything.

Secondly I believe contention applies to authors. So go ask the person who wrote it what his/her intention was. Beats me.

mmmm, but you wanna be wary about including contentious stuff like this in an essay, you neva know the view of your marker. If they see you using topics like this as evidence, and they don't like what you say, or even present, if it's not your view, goodbye decent mark...... I would steer clear of using this in an essay as there are just too mnay varied radical views on a subject like this...

yeah, after i thought about it for a while, i was like i better not.  the slightest things piss my english teachers off.  this would probably cause them to freak, and take off marks for no reason.
