Well I guess I'm in the same boat. However my ENTER is luckily enough to be able to go Commerce CSP @ UoM, or Commerce/Economics @ Monash.
Monash is trying to lure me with a $6000 scholarship, but my heart was always set at Melbourne. Reasons mainly due to the prestige of it.
Anyone got any pros and cons for me of which place to study.  :idiot2:

$6k pa or jst $6k?

A scholarship looks prettiful on a resume, but if it's only a once-off $6k payout then I doubt it can really compare 2 studying @ a university u've got ur heart set on.

R u interested in the double degree all that much?
I had the ENTER 4 Arts/Com @ Monash but I decided on BCom and a concurrent dip coz I can study exactly wot I want, but in 4 years full time instead of 5.

I chose straight BCom @ Monash over straight BCom @ UoM bcoz of the scholarship offer.
I was really tentative bout Monash @ 1st actually, but I don't regret my decision - that uni has a great atmosphere.

Umm... living near Monash is much cheaper than living near UoM, if u're planning on living on/near campus...
There's plenty of public transport 4 both tho, so I wouldn't consider that an issue of much importance.

The prestige of Monash and UoM r not all that different tbh.
Yes, UoM has the advantage here, but in terms of grad positions... firms will quite happily interview both Monash and UoM grads.

UoM campus is gorgeous tho if u intend 4 aesthetics 2 play a part in ur decision ^_^

Thanks for the reply, Fyrefly.

I assume it's a $6k pa. I recollect you said you got offered the same scholarship as me last year.

Monash University Scholarships for Excellence and Equity

If it was the same scholarship, I think you can answer this question for me.
Do the scholarships cover the cost of a Commonwealth Supported Place, and then the $6000 allowance for each year of study?

I read something from here: http://www.monash.edu.au/news/newsline/story/1392

Most of my teachers have voted for the Monash offer, but I have Asian parents, who well you know, like to show off to other parents about which uni their child is at. And I do really like, the sound of Melbourne Uni.  :P

2008 ENTER = 97.90

BCom @ UoM - I love you Melbourne!

I say you go to Melbourne, GTA. That way, there's a chance I could get a scholarship.

Oh, it is the same scholarship..!

It doesn't cover ur HECs loan, that's a different scholarship.
This scholarship is $6000 a year that u can either choose 2 pay off ur HECs with, or have the cold hard cash wired 2 ur bank account.
