according to this site: www.medicine.unimelb.edu.au/melbourne_model/index.html
we can do a biomed degree of 3 years then do medicine as post grad study which takes 4 years
the selection is supposedly done by taking GPA, aptitude test and interview
would this mean we need to sit the gamsat in order to be selected? The site is not clear about that
Btw who else is thinking of doing this??
My Subjects:
2006 I.T Systems --> 42
2007 English --> 40
         Methods --> 41
         Spec --> 38
         Chem --> 36
         Physics --> 37
         Unimaths --> 5.5

ENTER: 97.35

Yes...the gamsat and the interview and the Grade point average

No, it would not use the UMAT (U for Undergraduate). It would use the GAMSAT.

i emailed them here is what they said:
Thank you for your enquiry.  All students applying for the new graduate medicine program will be required to sit an aptitude test.  At this stage we do not know whether this test will be GAMSAT or another test.

 The only students who will have a guaranteed place in the graduate medicine course are those who:

    * receive an ENTER of 99.9 or equivalent; and
    * maintain a weighted average of 75% over the last two years of their degree; and
    * have sat the UMAT

 At this stage we do not know what ENTER will be sufficient to be offered a CSP in Biomedicine.  All we can tell you is that the guaranteed ENTER for 2008 is 95 i.e all students with an ENTER above 95 will be offered a place (whether it be a CSP or an Australian Full Fee place).

 Please contact me if you have any further queries.

 Regards,

Katrina Trigg
