STRIKE, STRIKE, STRIKE~!!!

That is all.

 :P :D :D

Srsly tho... who's classes r cancelled 2moz?
My Jap and Macro tutes r still on (meaning I still have 2 bloody tute tests 2moz... -.-), not sure bout AccFin lecture yet.

I've got several emails saying there's going 2 b picket lines and everything @ Monash Clayton campus 2moz, and (as I understand it) most classes will not b running.
The MSA (our version of student union) and various clubs r hosting events in support of the NTEU strike action.
I know... umm... Deakin I think it is... sent out an email last week informing students of the strike, and asking them not to attend in support of the strikers (or something or other).

Only had 2 lectures today, both of them ran though.

Though, when I entered the Law Building for my second, there were people outside who started telling me not to go to class and got slightly annoyed when I walked straight past them.

And there was a shitload of flyers everywhere. The bins were full of them..

Not sure bout how bad the protesting was this morning, but when I got to uni I think most of the protesters had dispersed... probably sick of freezing their asses off.
There were still about 10 or 15 near the entrance I went thru, but there were also two police officers there keeping them civil.

Bah, why can't people at UoM learn to protest and cancel lectures? :P

We got heaps of emails yesterday telling us most/if not all lectures were still running.

Heh, I ignored a protester who tried to stuff a pamphlet into my hand.

An interesting thoughts:

If academics in a university, some of the smartest people in our society, can't sit down and resolve things and have to go to strike... what hope does the society have?
