Difference between universities?

G'day guys, just wanted to get your thoughts on Deakin (Geelong Waterfront) University's law/commerce course. There seems to be alot of 'snobbery' about what universities are better and why. Are there really huge differences? And if so, how do courses differ in quality from university to university?

What other options would I have with the score I have achieved? (See signature).

Also, I'm still not getting a grip on all the uni jargon, was this the case for many of you? I plan to go to the change of preference session at Deakin tomorrow to better my understanding of everything.
