I didn't get my accomm offer until February - it'll be all g :)
This, I was the same as EZ. There were many people who had offers for accom but we didn't get our offers until much later. The 1st year guarantee will take care of you. don't worry :)

Just some advice given to me by the accommodation office - call up once you have your offer to study and ask about accommodation...I was basically told that you will get priority just for calling up and asking what's going on.

Thanks for the advice, I called them up now and they said that they'll have a better idea of the situation for people who applied after Nov 30th on Monday, so I'll probably call them up again then.

Btw they said if we got accommodation offer, we must pay fee in 48 hrs, unless our offer will lapse
Can we ask them to delay the deadline? Like 3-4days?  :(

Try calling them up and ask, I'm sure if you have reasonable grounds they might be lenient.

I did call up and ask for an extension and they were happy to extend the offer, as long as they were sure that you're going to accept.

I asked Ursula hall (who offered me yesterday) if the registration fee thing would be refunded if I decided to go to Monash instead. got this reply:

"Yes, they can be refunded in full. However we are less likely to do so the closer you get to the contract start date of the 9th Feb, as it gets harder to find someone to replace your spot.

Given the timeframe, you will have to make a decision before second round offers go out, or risk losing your acceptance fee. I realise this makes your decision very difficult, but keep in mind that waiting prevents another student with a first round offer from getting an offer of accommodation."

I'm probably gonna end up declining though, and know a few people who will, so it seems like there are plenty of spots open to new undergrads because of the whole accommodation guarantee.

Thanks! Nah I'm sure either will be good. The people at Fenner made a really good impression at open day though.
