Units I need to do if I want to become a Biomedical Engineer?

Hi everyone,
I am studying my engineering at monash and I was wandering what units I need to pick in order to do biomedical engineering? I am aware of the double degree with Biomedical science, but I thought the engineering faculty would have a more structured and specialised course for it. Also, if I specialise in chemical engineering, will I have a chance to work in the field of biology?
Hope you can help!

hmmm Im not sure because according to the Monash University sire on your course:

Depending on academic performance and quotas you can pursue any of the following disciplines from your second year of study:

Chemical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering
Materials Engineering
Mechanical Engineering

And since it doesn't say Biomedical Engineering I guess there isn't a structured course for it, maybe specializing in Chem Eng will be best, because you do learn a lot of Bio in it, well at least specializing in that will give you a better chance than specializing in the electrical, material, civil and mecha Eng....

Thanks :) I am currently hoping to pursue a chemical engineering pathway :) I am contemplating on dropping my commerce degree and pick up biomedical science as apparently, this is monash's pathway to becoming a biomedical engineer. So, I think I will in the end, I will have two eng majors :)

Apparently bio eng requires bit of everything; electrical, mechanical, medicine and chemistry..
2012 ATAR:88.90

2013-2015 Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering and Science (dropped in 2015)
2015-2017 Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)
