does that mean, you can get an otherwise 3 year degree in 2
or less than two if you overload?

do you guys find the trimester system useful? do you have shorter workloads throughout the year or is it the same and more condensed?
what are your thoughts on it? or is it in essence the same as doing summer/winter subjects at other unis?

You seriously couldn't google and work this one out for yourself?

That wasn't very nice.

If you know the answer, help the person instead of gloating.

i just wanted to start the topic of conversation on the trimester system/how it works/if its useful
deakins web page is made by them and will obviously spin stuff to make them look good, asking students how it is you can find out what trimester studying is like

I'm doing first year at Deakin and trimester 3 (T3) is completely optional. That's just another name for "summer semester" compare to other universities, I guess.

Personally, I think T3 will come in handy if say you failed a unit. So by doing T3 you can get back on track of your degree and not risking to graduate late. You can choose to do T3 either on-campus or off-campus depending on the unit. So far, I've never heard anyone say they want to do T3 to fast-track their degree :P Not all units are offered in T3, though.

I think one of the great things about Deakin is the off-campus option which most other unis don't have.

If you have any questions feel free to ask :)

can you do entire degrees (or units) off campus?
do you still get a standard degree or does it say "from deakins online college" or something

I think you guys are being a little harsh on Yeezus, sure his post is a tad bit rude but it makes a valid point. Far too many people (not specific to this thread) ask questions on the forum that could easily be Googled or searched on AN's existing threads to find the answer easily.

Cheers.

I'm sorry, but if people cannot on their own merits work out how a tri-semester system works, then they are in for a very rude-awakening at university. The alternative is that the OP was being lazy and getting other people to do his research for him.

I think that's a little bit unfair. The variability in university systems can be very confusing for many, especially for those fresh out of VCE. People are going to post this sort of thing on AN because they're likely to get a clearer, more concise answer here than via anything on Google.

In fact, if I recall correctly, some of my first posts on AN were about university (and my utter confusion about everything uni-related haha).

i just wanted to start a discussion about the whole trimester system and lead the way for a discussion on other things about deakin (like the off campus learning) and how students have found it all - not to just answer the original question
