Having trouble choosing preferences, your thoughts will be appreciated

If you're doing any of these courses or know someone who is please spare some time and tell me what it's like

Thank you!

You can't do Engineering at UoM and not to the M.Eng. You won't be qualified as a professional engineer.

I was hoping to do Commerce with Engineering and do Civil engineering as a breadth study if that's what they're called?

Honestly, as someone who is doing an eng degree (1 year to go ) at Melbourne.

I did BSc and am now doing M.E.

In retrospect, I would've picked Monash, strictly because I'd like to save that year but then I don't know. I'm trying to get a job in oil engineering/aerospace engineering in Qatar at the moment and they keep telling me to specify if I have a Masters or PhD so who knows, maybe my extra year will pay off.

Honestly, I don't see the point of doing a Comm/Eng double unless you plan on going into commerce. Engineering degrees are very highly regarded in the commerce sector, the converse isn't true, no-one really gives a shit about your commerce degree in the engineering sector (from what some BCom/B.E from the old model) tend to tell me. Commerce degrees are genuinely regarded as easier to complete than engineering ones in the work-force.

Don't do both for the sake of it, if commerce and engineering both interest you, take a double. Otherwise pick one.

If you live closer to Monash or Melbourne, pick that one. Otherwise, they're both 90% identical.

You could do Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Engineering at Monash.
I believe that's what the fourth option in the poll is.
2011
Mathematical Methods | Physics | Chemistry | English | Business Management

2012-2017
Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) @ Monash University

Current
Transport Modeller @ Arup

Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor for Commerce is a good choice imo, if you don't like one of them as you go you can always drop it.

Disagree, there's not much overlap between engineering and commerce, you're wasting your time doing both.

In what sense? It's a fairly common double degree taken by Eng students at Monash iirc.

Do employers these days prefer more of a Masters in Engineering or is Bachelor still good?

From what I've heard:

Australian Employers: Generally they don't really care as long as your course is accredited with EA.
Overseas Employers: Love the Master's degrees, especially in EU and US.
