Yup, you don't need 1/2 General Maths for 3/4 Further. :)

The Further course is very slow paced, so there is plenty of time to ask questions if you have any as well. I did 3/4 Further as a Year 11 student, and I have no regrets about it. :)

BTW, sorry in my previous post that should have been "Further Course", not "Further close".

I'm not gonna judge, but I wouldn't recommend doing the 1/2 Textbook. If you wanted to go ahead, you should do the exercises from the 3/4 textbook instead. :)

No worries. :)

if you don't mind me asking, did you, personally, do well for further? c:
the situation is, i'm actually doing legal right now, but i'm drawn by the apparent 'easy nature' of it.
but i hear, from some older friends, it's the hardest of the three maths!

The content for Further maths is easy, no doubt. However, the exam questions itself is purposely made to be tricky and confusing. I'm not too sure on your cohort strength, but making little mistakes in further (since it is one of the most popular subjects) would have considerable influence on your study score.

The content will be easy. Very easy, as in fact the majority of the time in class I did not do much work. But the exams? You can make very stupid mistakes.
I actually have no idea what I'm saying or talking about.

If your friends are telling you that Further is the hardest of the three maths, I think it's time you found new friends :)

Further could be one of the hardest maths to perfect score in, if you are a strong math student (and capable of doing Methods and Specialist). You can lose a lot more marks in Methods and Specialist to maintain a high score then you can with Further, this also makes SAC's very important in Further.

Don't worry about not doing 1/2. There are things you may learn which you won't even need for 3/4.
As with Damoz, (or Caparva... confusing =o)  I picked up 3/4 further this year (i'm finishing year 11 now) and I've had no issues.

Are you doing all three maths? Did you end up doing any of the 3/4's this year?

Ahahah my response to psyxwar: I enjoy math =p (although the question was directed at you, and you don't even do 3 math)

So you are only doing 2 maths, I thought if psyxwar was right then you would be doing Specialist and Further next year, which is like an awkward mix in my opinion.

I felt both methods exams this year were on the tough side, but were doable =p I took a lot longer than I wanted on the exam 2 though...
