[Monash] 2009 Semester One Results Thread

Hey All,

Just letting you know that our sem 1 results will probably be up @ 9am once the unscheduled WES maintenance is finished.

Can't b 100%... but I remember this happening last semester as well... my guess is that WES has to be closed while results are uploaded.

Not quite accurate, but not far off the mark either...

Basically, sometime today (COB?) a script will be run to finalise all your marks and your results will be available when this script is done. I'm not sure of the details because this is handled in another area of my team, but that's the very general gist of it.

In past semesters, I've found that usually by early (12am - 1am) morning of the results day is when WES re-opens with results...so I guess the 12pm bit is just a bit of an exercise of 'in case something goes wrong'.

This morning's downtime was some fallout from the power works over the weekend: http://www.its.monash.edu.au/downtime/displayitem.html?item=20090713.8

"Upcoming WES Scheduled Downtime: Due to scheduled maintenance WES will be unavailable on the following dates:

    * Thursday 16th of July from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
    * Thursday 16th of July 4:30 p.m. to Friday 17th of July 12:00 p.m."

Mayb they've changed their tactics... U still reckon they'll release them early again Jo?
If they don't, I imagine there's gonna be a lot of strain on the system come midday 2moz...

Do we go to WES and go to "Results/Unofficial Academic Record"?

I just hate the idea of reading results off a text message. haha just can't bring myself to the idea.

Lol, same same.
My heart would skip a beat every time I got an sms if I did that (which is quite often XD)
I got the sms after I found my results online last semester anywayz...

And clicky the "My Exam Results" thingy like zzdfa said... that's always the fastest way to check if your results are up.

Yeh, possibly.

We intend to send the message between late evening on 16 July and noon on 17 July AEST, when results are released online. However, due to the uncertainty of SMS messaging, Monash cannot guarantee that you will successfully receive your message before the official release of results online.

Weren't u stressed and freaking out last semester as well...?
It may have been some1 else, I can't be sure... but I could have sworn u were convinced u'd failed something last semester and it turned out u didn't.

Anywayz... u're really smart Nina, I'm sure u've passed ^_^
