Law and reading ahead?

Hi guys,

I'm due to start my JD at Monash in May, I was supposed to start in January but because I don't have any prior academic experience with Law I thought I'd take some time off to get prepared.

How do you recommend I approach these 4-5 months? so far I have purchased 'Laying down the law' (7th edition), and I thought I'd have a flick through that. Any other books I should look at purchasing? or just general tips would be greatly appreciated.
